If we had another referendum it would definitely be a landslide against Brexit.
I’ve got friends who voted to leave and it’s them who often complain the most about all the disadvantages of not being in the EU.
Nothing like a bit of lived experience.
I think there is more chance of UK rejoining EU than Scotland going independent now.
In my view independence is dead and died with Alex Salmond.
I voted remain in the actual referendum.
2016 - 2022 I would not have voted to rejoin because I grew to really dislike the EU as an institution in the years following the referendum leading up to our actual departure.
I would vote to rejoin now, but mainly for closer security ties to Europe and greater resistance to the whims of superpowers. I still don’t like the EU.
I can’t imagine anything more divisive in our country right now than another EU referendum. I don’t think it would be a landslide in either direction and I think it would fracture an already divided society even further.
The British people should not be trusted with this decision.
Starmer should unilaterally just join
I agree, the party that wins the next election won’t try and rejoin the EU because another campaign like we had before will divide the country more than it already is.
I know, but it is still your Government as much as it is my Government. I think even if the SNP wins the election in Scotland, the UK Government is not going to grant another referendum.
I didn’t say it wasn’t. You said it was up to Scotland and I told you that it wasn’t
No I said it was up to your Government:
By your Government, I mean my/our Government (the UK Government).
no offence but this just goes to show your arrogance about your views, the current UK government is the major government of the uk but the day to day devolved goverment is done in Edinburgh so thats the government I think of.
I am done with the conversation as talking to you is like talking to the wall. I dont even care about independance for now as its a long way away from happening. You just love to stick your 2p in
Sorry Calum, I really didn’t intend to come across as being arrogant but was simply, maybe pedantically making the point we have the same government as we both live in countries that are part of the UK. Completely get that you would associate yourself with the Scottish devolved government. For what it is worth I was, and continue to be, a big advocate for devolution. I equally remain firm in my view on Brexit and what an awful decision it was and that it needs to be reversed. I’d just sooner the UK go back into the EU together, rather than risk break up through Scottish independence.
