Bret Hart Was Quite Good

Three stages of hell match happening at Smackdown right now for the WWE Championship.

We’re onto the last fall now.

I hope this leads to 3 stages of hell coming back for the next WWE 2K game!

They actually pulled the trigger.

Cody lost. Drew is the new WWE Champion.

Ok, it all lines up now.

Orton’s gonna win this tournament and then go on to win the title at the Royal Rumble. That’s how they go to Orton v Cody.

Delighted to see Drew as champion, even if it’s not for long. He deserves that. A rare piece of good booking at the moment.

I hope he gets to enter Wrestlemania as champion after what happened in 2020. I hope they can stay away from that Orton Vs Rhodes match. I have no interest in Randy as champion or Cody winning another Rumble.

I’m not surprised. Cena’s involvement in the burial of the Nexus storyline has been out there for a long time.

Classic rendition !?

I watched a vid on him a few months ago, had no idea he was such a dickhead tbh. Always just assumed he was a lovable lad backstage and everyone loved him. How naive lol.

What’s come out about him?

So a few people have come out to speak on his treatment of them.

David Otunga spoke on how crazy Cena went on him once got a botched spot (that Cena himself botched) and how he kicked him out of the locker on one of his first days for no apparent reason. And then when his ex fiance was at a show (Jennifer Hudson) he sent for them to come and see him and greeted him like nothing had happened.

There’s another guy who spoke on how Cena saw his new t shirt and went backstage to have it completely nixed so that he couldn’t wear it for no reason despite apparently being complimentary of it at first sight. He also did the same with JTG and one of his hats.

A lot of what’s being said about him now aligns with him burying Nexus when everyone knew it was the wrong thing to do.

BTW I’m quoting off memory so the above may be a little off but that’s the rough account of it.

It’s not new stuff. Cena was notoriously cutthroat back then and was extremely vigilant of anyone that could be threatening his position.
That was in late 2000s to early 2010s.

Earning his respect was pretty rare. He was even beefing with The Rock.

Not sure if he’s still a heavy drinker but he was known to consume a ridiculous amount of alcohol every night which I can imagine brought out the worst version of him at times.

By 2015 he seemed to have mellowed down which did coincide with him not being the guy anymore and looking to branch out in Hollywood.

I mean, it sounds pretty standard top guy stuff. Certainly Hogan did a lot worse?

Just clocked Smackdown is in London on Friday. That’s surely going to be a monstrous ovation for Drew.

Just checked on ticket availability, cheapest seems to be £228. Pretty standard for TKO ticket pricing these days?

Yeah they rinse fans absolutely rotten. I’d never pay anything like that.

I listen to James Romero and he’s been going on about how extortionate ticket prices are for fans in the TKO era. It’s even worse when you consider the structure of the product itself (very few matches).

People seem to be paying the prices though :woman_shrugging:

Yeah, the demand very much seems to be there.

They’ve been smart in cutting down the number of dates they perform and touring more internationally. They’re going to markets they haven’t done TV in before and even in the states local shows are harder to come by.

I noticed there was a Smackdown in London too and was considering going but decided it’s not worth the price.
I’d probably give it more consideration had it been RAW as I like the guys on that roster more.

That was sick.

Too bad they jobbed him out to the old man holding the world championship already.

Has anyone ever been the supposed “next big thing” for 5 years before? :joy:
