Bret Hart Was Quite Good

This is why I don’t watch wrestling anymore, come on.

How is he standing just fine?

Who the fuck is this guy?

A long entrance during a match :man_facepalming:

4 AAs, 2 STFs, smashed his head to exposed turnbuckle twice and now Travis Scott comes out, lmao.

This match was so dumb lol.

Crowd heavy cena lol

Eh, rock should have really been there. And Cody looks like a dork now. Right person won though.

This is some WCW bullshit going on here.
And I thought Arquette was bad.

I know I’m being negative but this has so many elements of why Wrestling is unwatchable.

Why do people rate HHH if this is his best?

Forcing Travis Scott ruined this moment. Its laughable writing

Yep Mania as a whole was crap lol

Going with Cody v Cena was the wrong call. Turning Cena heel hasn’t worked. Add this to the long list of WM main events that shat the bed.

Proper shit show. Cody booed all match, Cena spot calling at its absolute worst, and then we had to watch Travis Scott make a 5 minute entrance while the match is ongoing.

No excuses should be made for WCW 2000, but at least the company was struggling then internally. WWE is a high production, well organised outfit.

Abomination.

The Levesque era peaked when he stood back and let the bloodline story cook. We never even got a proper end to that. His version of bloodline v2 with the Fatus has no legs

The writing, creative direction and overall presentation over the last 2 years or so has been below average definitely. The Cena heel turn has been completely bungled

Apart from a few spots the heel work was non-existent (Not helped by how much Cena dominated the match). Not far off a usual Cena match. Lackluster.

Comfortably the worst Mania in years.

I can see why HHH favours compact PPVs with small cards. When they have to do 2 night Manias there’s so much bloat in the card. So many TV matches made it onto this show.

You could literally delete night one. Top to bottom, complete shit.

Better on the undercard on night 2. Great stuff in the multi competitor matches. Enjoyed the McIntyre match.

Main Event was crap but it was more of an extended angle and it got to the right place from a storyline perspective so I’ll forgive it.

I wonder if Bron Breakker is the guy to beat Cena for the title in what I assume will be his last match. They kept him strong while getting the IC title off him. Cena to put him over to establish him as the next top man perhaps.

Right result but that main event was so bad, is that pretty standard for WWE? The finisher kickouts were horrific.

Cena AA’s off the TOP ROPE, Cody kicks out and starts having a burst of babyface comeback like he didn’t take any damage.

Then Cena did his submission twice in succession which Cody manoeuvres with absolute ease after getting beaten the hell out of him.

Then that long entrance during the match so that goofy guy comes out. Oh my word it reminded me of this garbage from TNA:

Then we get to the ending, Cody after everything he’s been through (Presumably) loses through one of the worst wrestling tropes that babyfaces have: ‘I’m a good guy I can’t do that’ :joy: now the actual finish, obviously they needed Cena to win a heel way but the execution was horrific.

So much of this match is why I don’t bother watching.

The WWE babyface has not evolved in years. The whole “I’ll fight anyone any time, I’ll never cross the line” thing always sucked but it’s so played out now. It’s weird that despite a lot of improvements to the product that that remains.

The involvement of Travis Scott continues to be bizarre. I’ve got to say that wasn’t representative, that was weird even by modern WWE standards.

The kick out from Cena’s avalanche AA was stupid. I don’t remember anyone ever kicking out of that before. But it does reflect the way WWE treats finishers now. I was actually surprised he pinned Rhodes off of hitting him with the title.

Same.

Cena vs Orton then. Was kinda obvious considering Backlash is in St. Louis
