Yep. Think it’s more he wanted to do it but no one would say no or try to point how silly of an idea it is.
It was clearly meant to be an elbow drop or a splash, just didn’t end that way.

It would’ve been an interesting dynamic actually to see how Edge would’ve faired with Punk.
What ended up happening is that Edge replaced Punk directly. He even took his spot as the guy who’s best friends with FTR.
If Punk somehow lasted that long post All In I doubt he would bother telling anyone what to do.
Word is that he kinda gave up in his last few weeks there. People were coming to him about stuff to do on Collision(he was running the show) and he didn’t care. He let them do whatever they wanted. Dude was already checked out.

they took ages with the Bray return at Extreme Rules as well, WWE is annoying for that
Wow, they went crazy with that NXT episode.
Biggest one since NXTMania when they brought Cody, Taker and Cena to slap Dynamite, lol.
And if anyone watched NXT that might have been impressive 
Didn’t tune in but it created lots of buzz for an NXT show which isn’t common.
They had Sexxy Red twerking on live TV and Booker was ready to have a heart attack commentating over it.
They opened up the gates for a WWE/TNA partnership with Jordynne Grave challenging the NXT Women’s Champion at their next PLE and it’s reported we’ll see WWE talent do TNA shows too in the future. (If you told me this in the early 2010s I wouldn’t believe you)
And then they had a new signing in Ethan Page attacking Trick in the end.
Pretty good for a developmental promotion.

Not sure she lasts but currently she’s very popular, so her appearing on a random NXT episode out of all places is pretty good for WWE’s standing.
Reckon that’s why they overloaded the show with other stuff as they expected more eyeballs than usual because of her.

Never said they did but having currently relevant artists wanting to appear in multiple developmental shows is easy publicity for them.
