Bret Hart Was Quite Good

You’re right, that’s the trajectory that WWE would want and would probably make sense. I’m not even sure he could make that work these days though. What are the programs people would want to see?

Him Vs Reigns. Good match, but he absolutely would have to lose and I’m not sure his ego would allow that.

Him Vs Rollins because Rollins has slated him for years on social media. Could he really handle that without blowing up?

Hear me out. Him and Cody eliminate each other in the RR and they go down as Co-winners. Roman vs Cody vs Punk for the title at Mania. Punk finally gets his main event spot he’s been crying out for, he can eat the pin. Everyone’s happy. I doubt Punk cares about title reigns at this point.

I don’t think he gives a shit about losing. He lost to MJF twice on the same day in Chicago, he was ok with getting squashed by Moxley despite their issues, and he put over Ricky Starks already after losing.

I think he’ll be ok with losing to the biggest draw in the game today. With Rollins they cna exchange wins. We’ve never gotten Cody v Punk and that would be a massive blow for AEW to allow happen in WWE when they had them both before.

The one out there for me is Punk v Dominic. Punk and Rey have huge history. Dom was involved in that storyline with Straight Edge Society. That’s one that’s been building for more than a decade.

Hate to be that guy, but just checked and we have Cody vs Punk in the past, albeit neither were as big as they are now haha

Was it a feud or was it just a throwaway match?

Just a random on RAW. When Punk was feuding with Regal for the IC title.

Honest thoughts on this sequence?

not very believable, that move is a finishing move and not a regular one

There are wrestlers who use it as a finish. Pretty disrespectful to them.

Also, what is that really adding to a match?

It’s a great move. Involves both wrestlers. They’ve just bastardised it in that sequence.

You’re too kind @LukeTheGooner.
Yep. @Leper @DavidHillier.

This Orange Cassidy Superman push is absolutely ludicrous.

As things stand btw, with suspensions, illnesses and the hurricane in Florida, there’s a good likelihood this chump will main event the All Out PPV on Sunday.

Going from All In to this is quite an achievement.

Cassidy is a decent enough act but the gimmick is midcard at best. What on earth is he doing in a main event?

Punk was supposed to close the show but he’s suspended. Whether that suspension is magically lifted on Saturday/Sunday, I don’t know. They haven’t exactly blacklisted like last time. They’ve been advertising him all week for the Chicago shows.
A couple wrestlers are also ill and there’s the hurricane that has fucked up travel for some.

The card overall is really weak and essentially has been put together at the last minute.
Booker of the year thought it’s smart to book his biggest PPVs on back to back weeks, and he actually wants to make it tradition no less.

Anyway, as things stand the biggest match on the card is Orange Cassidy v Jon Moxley for the International Title.
It is somewhat of a big match in the AEW context and I would get it if it main event a Dynamite, not a PPV though, lol.

In Tony’s eyes I’m sure he sees it as one of AEW biggest marquee matches. He sees both guys as two of the biggest draws in the company.

All Out is doomed to be honest, only thing to save it is os people that were drawn in from All In deciding to tune in for this or people thinking Punk would still somehow show up.

The term ‘run it into the ground’ applies here. Why does no one in those waters ever push back against this stuff.

Even Malakai v Mero would have sold as a main event.

Instead that just fizzled out like a wet fart.
