Bret Hart Was Quite Good

I think Cody’s defection says a great deal about where he thought AEW’s future was going. He’s been a very astute businessman for himself throughout. Leaving WWE was the right move, raising his stock in the independents and then returning to cash that in for maximum value once he’d gotten everything out of the AEW product he could have.

Wasn’t this proven to be slightly clickbaity?

Essentially, they’re running a show where and when the weather is bad and where they don’t even get full AEW programming so it’s unlikely people in that area are big on AEW.

I guess the question is, why do they run shows there in the first place?
Tbf to them, they have to run shows elsewhere, apart from the common places. It’s how they can branch out and see what the engagement is elsewhere. Suffice to say, it’s not great and further highlights the gap between them and WWE.

Ah shit.

RIP Sheikh

Genuinely a cult hero. And if you watch his work during his prime he was a great worker too. Genuine wrestler with world class mat skills.

RIP.

Why is AEW doing a third show anyway.

I mean I know why it’s happening, but it’s stupid it’s happening. If I don’t give a toss about Dynamite I’m sure as hell not caring about this.

Wrestling isn’t what it used to be, it isn’t gonna bring casuals like it decades ago.

However, they’re a bit of a sure bet for TV execs. It’s relatively low cost and you more or less know what the minimum amount of viewers you’ll pull will be.

It’s an easy way for them to fill up time every week.

Isn’t this ROH? That’s what the turnbuckles say.

It was, however

Fair. That’s Dynamite alright.
To their defence, it is the hard cam side which is usually empty on purpose, doubt it would look much better for RAW or SD in most places.

I think the sound is the more worrying bit. Very evident the crowd isn’t particularly into the product, not just from this clip but from other segments too. One of the best things about AEW before is how lively the crowds were which sometimes made shows feel much better than they actually were. Even in small arenas or with small crowds, you could feel the energy from the crowd.

It just feels like they’re going through the motions now.

One of the GOAT PPVs

Hard to think of a more complete PPV

P.S.

Dude Love vs. Austin in 1998 was the best main event of the year. Underrated classic

Given how dangerous the ropes can be if wrestlers hit them wrong you have to admire the commitment to looking silly.
