Bret Hart Was Quite Good

Maybe its because us Brits have a way to watch AEW on freeview instead of having to pay for BT Sport for WWE?

I think it’s cos the flagship show, Dynamite, is shown as close to terrestrial telly as you can get. ITV4. WWE does nothing of the sort. 20 odd years ago, Channel 4 showed Heat and a few PPVs in 2000 and 2001, and that was it.

ITV does a lot for wrestling tbf. From the World of Sport days in the 70s to the WCW days in the 90s. They even showed a British promotion that Wade Barrett was part of on Saturday afternoons right up until the start of the pandemic.

TNA was on Challenge back in it’s time. Probably something in that thought process.

Has been the case for a while now though.

I find it fascinating because I can’t imagine watching AEW on ITV. Especially with the episodes being delayed a few days.

I did it at first but once I switched to FITE it was a game changer. Never going back.

Everything is uncensored, no bleeping. You get no ads, in fact you get extra stuff with FITE. The matches continue when it goes to PiP for ads in the US and when the ads between segments happen sometimes you can hear the audio from the arena.
You also get some extra 10-20 seconds after they get off the air.

glad to see luchasaurus with a new gimmick rather then the goofy dinosaur one, this character should be a dark heel tbh and it’s giving me Kane/Abyss vibes

Not sure if you’re familiar with his work at Lucha Underground but that’s how Luchasaurus was born.
His debut there gave me proper Kane vibes, came in and killed everyone.
His name was actually Vibora but the fans started chanting ā€œLuchasaurusā€ which caught on and then he used that as a gimmick once LU died.

Just when you thought MJF was the last proper heel in the business, Christian Cage arrived with arguably his best work ever. The man is a proper savage.

That video was pointless and blasted awful music that gave me an headache.

I never realized Christian had that dawg in him. It’s been over a decade since he did somewhat entertaining, 2011 with Randy. Had some banger matches too.

did not know that, really cool video so thanks for sharing  hoping he keeps this dark gimmick now because that’s what suits him

I feel like Lucha Underground really produced the best version of wrestlers that their careers ever had and ever will.

Johnny Mundo(John Morrison), Prince Puma(Ricochet), Fenix, Pentagon, Matanza(Jeff Cobb), Brian Cage, Mil Muertes. I could genuinely go on and on with names.
Truly an all-timer wrestling show.
I guess it’s no surprise considering Mark Burnett and Robert Rodriguez were involved.

I’ve never seen a good version of Cage tbh

6 man hell in a cell Armageddon 2000 was in a steel cage

Tell me about it. Cage in Lucha was total badass.

Unfortunately, the Brian Cage the person is a doofus that wants to wrestle like an indy version of Shawn Michaels, like the rest of the spot monkeys out there.

ROH is the last chance I give him although I’m sure he’ll let me down again. He’ll start complaining about wanting to have 20 minute spotfests so he can feel good, lol.

he has the look and can do some great moves for a big guy but he just doesn’t have ā€œITā€ as Jericho used to say, I find him boring

If you listen to some of the things he says in interviews he’s a proper dummy. He may be big, but that brain is tiny.

who are your current favourites in AEW?

With all the injuries going, if I had to say 3 picks, I would go for FTR, Gunn Club and The Acclaimed.

I like other acts as well though, seeing some people step up to fill the void left from all the absentees which is great.

I like the look of that new young guy they signed from NJPW, can’t remember his name though

think he officially signed with aew and isn’t just here from forbidden door

Takeshita?

Yeah. He isn’t from NJPW, he is on an excursion I think as part of the AEW-DDT relationship.
NJPW and AEW should be all over him when he is out of his current deal. Great talent.
Even Cornette who hates modern Japanese pro wrestling praised his work. The only thing he picked up on was that his name can be readnas ā€œTake-a-shit-aā€
