I understand your point about sportsmanship but then taking the ball to the corner flag and wasting time can also be considered poor sportsmanship but we call it “game management”. Making substitutions in added time is another one. Even a so called “professional foul” is actually poor sportsmanship.
If everyone else played by the rules of sportsmanship, then I would like us to as well, but you know that doesn’t happen. During the latter part of Wenger’s tenure, we were often bullied by teams and developed an image of having a “soft under belly”. Teams like Newcastle tried doing that to us last season and we put them in their place.
I’d much rather us be like we are now, than play the game in the right spirit and have nothing to show for it cause no one else plays it that way.

I think we’ve lost the ‘bottling’ tag now, after this season’s performances. The mentality of characters like White, Saliba, Havertz etc is 10x the other Arsenal squads from 2009-2020.
