Well said. I love him too and feel similar affection in many ways, but got to this place a year or two earlier and can tell you it ain’t fun… main thing for me is this whole mess feels like purgatory… or Groundhog Day (and AW is Bill Murray contriving new ways to kill himself every season)…
I’m prepared for the club to suffer whatever embarrassment is necessary to convince Wenger that he just can’t do it anymore. Lose to Sutton if that’s what it takes, I couldn’t give a fuck.
Did anyone really think the team would show up and win today?
I certainly didn’t. After stumbling on a set up that appeared to work (Alexis up front with Santi and Coquelin as a two man midfield) Arsene started to revert to the same set up we had last year.
It wasn’t entirely by choice because of Cazorla’s injury but even after we knew Coquelin and Ramsey wasn’t a viable partnership Arsene tried to force it, even after we knew the front line was less dynamic with Giroud playing Arsene tried to force it.
Unfortunately I believe a new approach is needed and has been needed for a few years. We have big name players who don’t show up in big games. We have some good young players who have seriously stagnated.
I know there are two schools of thought about managers announcing a departure. Some believe that it could bind players together for the rest of the season like Bayern with Jupp Heynckes or create a serious distraction leading to the season going into the toilet like Manchester City with Manuel Pellegrini. I think for the good of the atmosphere around that Arsene professes to care about so much, he needs to announce that he’s leaving. It will take a lot of the rancor out of home games because people will know a change is definitely coming this summer.
Problem is the narcissistic twat doesnt care, if he is offered another contract he will fucking take it he is always on about how much he cares about the club and if he feels he cant get us where we need to be he will leave, well why the fuck hasnt he. Then of course ‘i will always stick to my contracts’ of course you fucking will…more money in your pocket isnt it!
For the people who say he doesn’t care, an that he is only interested in the Money…sorry, but that’s utter shite.
He could have fucked off at any time during the Debt years, France wanted him, England even wanted him pre Fat Sam, those would have been cosy easy jobs, but he didn’t up and leave.
I absolutely hate fucking idiots who bleat on about not winning the title for so many years…then forget 10 of them were while the stadium was being built and the debt paid off, when we were selling the likes of RvP to balance books (Quoted from Ken Friar when attempting to get more concerts at Emirates from Islington Council as a reason why), forget that period where we had to make do with the likes of Denilsen and Eboue in midfield because the money wasn’t there for anything better…If you cannot put those years aside and admit he did a great job with what he had then, you are blind.
THAT said…here and now, out of debt, and able to sign players like Ozil, Sanchez…and spend 35m on the likes of Xhaka etc…he can be judged on his success and failures…and he is failing in terms of a sustained Prem challenge, and in the CL…Couple of FA cups have glossed over that slightly and brought him some time…but the constant losses against the top 5/6 and clear inability to mount a title challenge cannot be ignored much longer…but don’t be so blind as to think he doesn’t care, nor that he is just cashing in…he deserves more respect for that…for the great pre debt years, and keeping the ship afloat during the debt years, he was the best manager for us by far…however that may no longer be the case.
I didn’t think we would be so thoroughly outclassed and look so devoid of passion or ideas… I had thought maybe we would rebound with our backs against the wall and pull off a draw - yeah… not so much.
He went with the more mobile front line which was a good call but then left out one of our most mobile forwards in Welbeck!
The midfield two was okay given our options but going forward I think we need to reassess the shape of the team. A two man midfield isn’t working unless we have the “perfect” partnership, which we don’t through a combination of injury and suspension.
Coquelin has outlived his usefulness, Ramsey is a runner not a ball winner (and playing scared right now), Xhaka has been hot and cold, Santi is in his thirties with ankle problems, Jack is a goner and frankly we just haven’t seen enough of Elneny in my opinion to know if he can play at this level.
I really think we need a three man midfield and if it requires moving Ozil out wide (or to the bench) I’d be okay with it.
seems that some Juve fans are a little concerned that Allegri could very well join us. There is the usual Arsenal is a shit club who would leave us for them…but there are more level headed ones that realise that it is wenger holding us back and is stale but yet we are always in the champions league with a talented but lazy squad but feel that allegri would sort that right out and have them fighting for each other and they feel we could win stuff with allegri, some feel it will never happen some seem to feel it already has pretty much (especially with Juves 3 years on average for each manager routine)
Wenger said the team showed attitude . L m f a o. The man is an embarrassment, but for £I’m a year i’d spout Shiite. Lol.
To think I missed going out for meal with missus, daughter n grandkids to watch my 18 minutes of this Shiite. I fkkkin knew it.
Watched up to first goal said fkk it and went n cleaned shed.
Came back in to get bucket to wash car and saw their second goal. Fkk it washed car.
I must be one sad bastard if I would sooner clean shed n car than watch the arsenal.
