Arsène Wenger

I’m in the camp the guy lost his marbles in his later years, but you can’t downplay the role he played in shaping the image of our club in the international market with the brand of attacking football he brought during the late 90s/early 2000s. An absolute legend imo.

Yeah it doesn’t really work does it.

Can’t ignore the demise either. Gets the staue either way.
Took a lot of hard work putting that failing behind us and it shouldn’t be forgot.

Gotta include the knee long puffer in any statue.

Arms have to be crossed too

Him lifting an FA Cup would feel apt, I like your suggestion. Think they’ll probs go for an Invincible based one though, maybe this

Wenger is a legend without his love for the club we wouldn’t be where we are right now - have to respect his legacy ?! Also the football in his earlier part of his tenure spoilt our fanbase - playing the Arsenal way from boring boring Arsenal to Wengerball !? To be able to watch Henry, Vieira, Bergkamp, Pires, Ljungberg et al in full flow was something else at Highbury.

He should have a stand named after him as well.

Why?

He is and has been synonymous with the club and really gave the club his everything. The style of play he implemented and his focus on youth development created a signature Arsenal way. Allot of fans would agree he revolutionized not only Arsenal but the sport in general. If anyone had the right to #1 Arsenal man/fan it would be Wenger.

To me he’s influenced the sport more than Fergi even. Fergi won everything but he wasn’t a visionary like Wenger.

Revolutionised the sport. Like on a global basis?

That’s broad I’ll admit. Maybe in the top leagues in Europe. He did allot in Japan prior to coming to Arsenal apparently.

I think Barca’s tiki-taka era was directly influenced by us.

No it wasn’t. Come on. Pep is a disciple of Cruyff.
Cruyff had set that in motion years before at Barcelona.
As for youngsters being promoted that’s nothing new in the game.
He implemented a continental game and new technical level of playing in England.
Dispelled myths and brought a better dietary and fitness level to the game.
The statue is just fine.

Was nice to see him back at the stadium and getting the warm reception he received.

Still stings his tenure ended on a 14 year league title drought and a squad that was all over the shop though and took years to rebuild.

Arsenal on his mind 24/7.
He knows he’s on that Wenger path.

If you’re happy with that shite, then you really are turning into Wenger.
