I’m in the camp the guy lost his marbles in his later years, but you can’t downplay the role he played in shaping the image of our club in the international market with the brand of attacking football he brought during the late 90s/early 2000s. An absolute legend imo.
Wenger is a legend without his love for the club we wouldn’t be where we are right now - have to respect his legacy ?! Also the football in his earlier part of his tenure spoilt our fanbase - playing the Arsenal way from boring boring Arsenal to Wengerball !? To be able to watch Henry, Vieira, Bergkamp, Pires, Ljungberg et al in full flow was something else at Highbury.
He is and has been synonymous with the club and really gave the club his everything. The style of play he implemented and his focus on youth development created a signature Arsenal way. Allot of fans would agree he revolutionized not only Arsenal but the sport in general. If anyone had the right to #1 Arsenal man/fan it would be Wenger.
To me he’s influenced the sport more than Fergi even. Fergi won everything but he wasn’t a visionary like Wenger.
No it wasn’t. Come on. Pep is a disciple of Cruyff.
Cruyff had set that in motion years before at Barcelona.
As for youngsters being promoted that’s nothing new in the game.
He implemented a continental game and new technical level of playing in England.
Dispelled myths and brought a better dietary and fitness level to the game.
The statue is just fine.
