I think we will as well but surely “easily” is a stretch.
Only 4 games left but we’re playing Bournemouth in-between the PSG games, and they’ll be desperate to win to secure a European spot.
Then we play Liverpool at Anfield, Newcastle at home(who are looking to secure a CL spot) and finally Southampton.
Southampton is the only game I’m confident we’re winning but I’m not sure about the rest. I think it’d be tight.
2 extra points tonight would’ve made a world of difference, only properly clocked it before the game.
I mean, Liverpool wouldn’t have the amount of points they have now I agree.. but where do you think they’d be right now?
We’d still have our 67 points too, so maybe it’d be neck and neck?
As for the 2nd place thing, we’re only 6 points ahead. We’re incredibly inconsistent and have been all season.
If we finish below 2nd, it’s a disaster imho. Unless we bring home the ol’ Big Ears!
I’m hopeful!
EDIT: We’re not beating Newcastle lol. Not without Gabriel.
We’ll beat Liverpool like we did that weird covid season when they were still drunk

The mighty Bournemouth who have drawn 3 of their last 2 games and scraped a 1 nil against Fulham. We’re at home and won’t lose that - same with Newcastle. Southampton are beyond shit and we’ll walk that. We’re not dropping any places between now and end of season.

With saka fit for those 3-4 months we’d certainly have 5 or so more points at least.
I said they’re no mugs, they perfectly capable of getting a point at least
We’ve been crappy for a while, nothing is secured especially after a result like today
Fair enough, I agree. But we wouldn’t ‘walk the league’ imo.
We wouldn’t be 13/16 points clear, like Liverpool are now. The gap would be much smaller.
Mateta scores a wonder goal after a mistake and suddenly we’re shit again. We literally just beat Madrid home and away. If we want apply ourselves, we will. Not worried about losing second in the slightest.

City crawled over the line against villa and Everton and went two down to palace before waking up.
Not sure why they are suddenly being viewed as infallible again.

We’re talking about domestic, not Europe
Two seperate levels of form
@shamrockgooner: no one is saying they’re infallible again, the point is there’s a chance 2nd has opened up. Very simple
Salah leads Liverpool in goals scored and assists by a big margin. They would absolutely be in the crapper if Salah was gone for 4 months.
This isn’t just a ‘wahhh we’ve dropped points let’s moan’ scenario.
Don’t care how we played tonight personally but genuinely 2nd now looks at risk. Winning tonight basically secured us 2nd in my book and that late goal was a ballache.
Theo got the balls to talk about Odegaard and certain players feeling a bit too comfortable

1 in 10 king

Sure there’s a chance. Is it really worth venting this much energy over right now with 4 games to go and effectively a 7 point lead?
No, its not.

We’re going to do it anyway

Can’t believe he said it with a straight face lol
Guess it takes one to know one lol
I agree and that’s fair, but I think we’d then be competing with City (as we are now), with a 8-10 point lead max.
I can’t see us getting to a 14+ point gap ahead of whoever is in 2nd if Salah was out for 4 months, unless we also got all our deserved PGMOL points back and our front 4 were firing on all cylinders, which they simply have failed to.
Perhaps it’s just one of those seasons. Sod’s law and all that.
Just hope that we prepare properly in the summer, cause there were large parts of the season where we’ve played like pure shite, and I’m unsure if its just a personnel issue.
