The result is fine, they weren’t better. Although if they equalised we couldn’t be complaining about it.
It’s just that - the performance in whole is something way below a standard of a potential title winner. A complete mess, especially the second half. And especially after their red.
Listen, I get bitching after bad results but some of you are doing too much here.
We’ve just won back to back London derbies. I’m sorry you thought we’d spank Chelsea.
Our players are running on fumes. We’re in 4 competitions and we have a tough away game in 3 days.
If you’re expecting big performances at this stage of the season I’ve got bad news for you.
It’s all about getting the W from now and moving on.
If it helps, your beloved City are doing no different.
If I wanted the team to fail, I wouldn’t have spent the last 19 years on these boards.
If winning the Carabao and UCL is failure, then we have very different definitions of what that word means.
I do still think we’ll miss out on the title in the end, but at the same time I think we have a better chance of winning the other 2 trophies this season.
We’re in a final with City, 1-off game anything could happen.
And we have a very, very favourable draw in the UCL that should on paper, take us to the semi-final at least.
I too, am concerned about how they looked post Neto Red. However, this Chelsea team is loaded with (undisciplined) talent. They’ve been poorly managed, or else they would be in thick of the title race.
As you said, just get the points. These last 9 games will be tough. I don’t expect any easy wins the rest of the way.
But why be so miserable? If anything goes wrong, you are one of the first to post along with @Mercenary or @Cristo .
Can’t talk about how great the PL is and then be unnerved when the games are tight—especially against a cross town rival loaded with talent.
The remaining 9 games will be tough. I too am concerned about Arsenal late in games over the last month. Performances don’t matter at this stage, just the points.
I think it’s just from being let down so much in the past year over year, that it’s become almost expected really.
In the match predictions, I thought it would be a draw. I’m happy we got the 3-points, but I wish it didn’t have to be such a scary encounter every time, despite the league’s strength.
Agreed about the last 9 games though. We’ll see how they cope with it. Hopefully they can get over the line this time.
I get it. I’ve been following Arsenal since ‘06. Never seen them win a league title.
I just think it’s a bit much of the criticism from the board after a tough win and 3 points. Do people really think that Chelsea isn’t good? This wasn’t a ridiculous tie against the Wolves. It’s an underperforming undisciplined team still loaded with attacking talent.
I’m sure that there will be moments in the last 9 where things are poor or even a loss. Still think that Arsenal get this over the line, even if they give me heart failure along the way.
