Arsenal vs Bournemouth (PL)

Then beat Man City to get the title won before we play West Ham so we can give them the points they need to finish above spurs.

I agree I should have phrased it better, if we win our games it wont matter what City do which is what I am saying which is a good feeling

A win and not losing against City pretty much does it and we can almost solely focus on Europe - a luxury that Barca, PSG and Real do not have.

This feels like the biggest game of the season and it’s at the Emirates. Please.

I want to beat City at the Etihad. The whole game may be irrelevant in the end, but it would be so sweet to do it. We’re very capable of doing it, probably by playing the most defensive, harram Arteta ball possible, but it’s the way we do things at the moment.

If ever there was a time for the statement victory at that place to come it’ll be now. It’s the one major result in the league that Arteta hasn’t been able to get, and despite the fact that we may not even need it mathematically it would be nice to crown this title push with that win.

Nice early kick off in the sun. Three points and then enjoying the rest of the weekend.

It’s Wednesday and I can’t get this game off my mind. Being off work should mean my mind is free. This title race is occupying my thoughts 20% of waking hours. Can’t wait to be back at work next week!

Oh man that sounds so perfect.

The only way we go to the Etihad and win is if we beat Bournemouth and City drop points at Chelsea. I think that flattens them and settles the title race. But if we drop points at Bournemouth and they beat Chelsea.. I think they’ll comfortably beat us

An underrated factor here is that Bournemouth hasn’t played since March 20th, whereas we’ve had two matches since the end of the international break. They’ll obviously be very well rested - which could favor them in the second half - but I think it gives us an opportunity to blitz them early when they’re still finding their feet and getting their rhythm.

This is a match to come out aggressively and try to grab a goal early.

I don’t think City will comfortably beat our best side. They might win but only in a tight match. Their two cup wins were both odd idiosyncratic games in their own ways and before that they were getting their ass beat by a very poor Madrid and drawing against Forest and West Ham. We have our own flaws but they just aren’t that good compared to past City sides and the last time they beat us in the league was three years ago (the 4-1 beatdown to kill our title hopes in 2023).

The Arsenal thing would be to do this exactly, but failing take our chances. Meaning the second half will be nervy as fuck as Bournemouth improve, while we look for the lead still.

Hope we do take the early chance(s) this time.
