Arsenal transfers 25/26

Cost us about the same tbf.

Should get:
Leno - 10m
Bellerin - 10m
Torreira - 10m
Mari - 5m
AMN - 10m

Don’t think we’ll bin Nelson so 45m feels realistic. 35m would be the usual poor business on our part.

Still can’t believe we didn’t take 20m for that trash bag AMN.

It’s a shambolic return, but that said, none of those players play a key role for us. It’s for the best that we just take the hit and invest in 4 or 5 quality players.

50m plus the Douzi and Dinos fees probably get us Jesus and Hickie - I’m okay with that. Saliba returns on top, so there is 3 players who vastly improve our squad for no net spend.

People do realize he’s a fucking blogger and is literally just pulling numbers out of thin air for an opinion piece lmao? Probably being contravesial on purpose because he knows it will rile people up and bring him attention.

God I hate silly season

You know full well we’re shit at selling. He’s being reasonable with those pessimistic expectations in terms of outgoings.

I don’t think they will matter that much in regards to incomings though.

If a player is shit and doesn’t have a market there’s not much the club can do if the desire to shift people.

The figures these bloggers use are totally made up and based on absolutely nothing

I know full well that bloggers are thick cunts who feed off the life blood of other thick cunts.

We’ll see what’s what when the window actually opens. Until then who gives a fuck about boring estimations with literally no real world meaning

The most important bit is those players leaving. I think the club will be more concerned about making space and freeing up our wage bill than getting substantial money back for these guys.

Never seen much point in all this speculation from these goons, wait and see what develops. No one knew about the Elneny/Nketiah renewals until it actually happened.

Not sure why it’s such a big deal, he’s given his opinion same as we all can and do.

Don’t think his estimate is miles off tbh but not like anyone’s taking it as gospel.

The surprise for me is Leno’s weak market, he’s easily still a 15-20m goalkeeper and I’m surprised no German club is after him. I much prefer Ramsdale but Leno is easily a #1 GK for a Europa league club.

Well exactly, and really none of them need replacing as we don’t use the chumps anyway.

Not sure about relying on this American GK but doubt we go for another solid #2

Wouldn’t mind him to be honest. He is a sound lad and I think he would be a good influence in the locker room. Would rather him than Arthur as 3rd keeper. Arthur can then go on a loan.

Yup. Its also that a bunch of these guys either don’t want to stay in England or seem unsuited for PL football. Nobody has any money outside England except the biggest clubs, which obviously aren’t going to be looking at these kinds of players. Move past PSG/Bayern/BVB/Real/Barca/Atleti/Juve/Inter and since Covid hit, you can count the number of transfer fees > £20m paid by other European clubs on one hand. And those are for top early 20s talents on cheap wages like Tomori or Tammy. Meanwhile, there are a million players big clubs are trying to sell so you can just make shit bids until somebody sells you Guendo for £11m or Shaquiri for £5m or Zappacosta for £7m or whatever.

Foster as backup would be a superb choice

Yep and I don’t really get how people keep overlooking how broke most clubs in football are now. There’s this notion that Arsenal are a bad selling club which has absolutely been true in the past - without a doubt.

But in the last 12 months we sold Willock for £25m and we’ve turned down bids for players that we didn’t feel matched our valuation of them so there’s an obvious shift in policy.

But when it comes to some players they simply don’t have a market worth talking about so unless you’re a proven commodity or a high performing talent with potential then you aren’t going to attract much interest worth talking about.

Even Guendouzi - yes we probably could have gotten more for him but his market was a bunch of really poor / really tight clubs so we extracted from Marseille what they were prepared to pay

Fuck sake. The unorganised pricks :man_facepalming:

Foster is cooked even as a backup keeper.

What you smoking up there in Scotland

If Pepe goes for around 15 mill it’s absolutely extraordinary that you can sign someone at 23 or 24 years of age for 72 million and the value can tank to 15 mill in 3 seasons.

It’s the Arteta Effect.

Kepa was also 72m signed at 23/24 and his value feels similar to Pepe’s. Transfermarkt isn’t the greatest at guessing valuations but they put it at 10m euro. :santi:

Spurs signed N’Dombele for 65m at 22 and he might have negative value right now. :gabriel:

Tbh this one is just the Pepe effect.

He was never worth more than 40m and even that is pushing it. Raul is a crook.
