Arsenal transfers 25/26

Quite like him but without the City set up he looks a little vulnerable for me.

We can do better yo

Smh

Shit, Jack’s a reliable one for City news, isn’t he?
Very interesting though there’s no article on it, maybe something he wants to keep on the down low?
Well, at least I hope so.

Oh shit, it’s up now.

Arsenal is turning into the discount Man City before our very eyes.

If that’s the basis of Arteta’s project then we should all be very concerned

Yeha it’s kinda the point where u realize that the dood has no clue what he’s looking for so he just buys players he’s familiar with. It will keep him afloat and in a job which is probably all he cares about tbh.

Logic dictates that if we sign City’s B team then we should have a team that will qualify for the CL amirite?

Tbf, if we’re being honest here, he’s probably a better left-back than Tierney and a better midfielder than Xhaka.

I guess there’s the worry of looking like you’re going after City’s B team but then again City’s B team rivals some of the top sides in the world. We’re not talking about Chelsea’s shitters here.
If you can pick and choose some of those players that can be utilized better and believe in then you don’t care about optics.

Case in point, Spurs signing two players from Juve in January that weren’t deemed good enough and Juve was desperate to move on. Initially, most people laughed at Spurs for those and thought Paratici and Conte were doing Juve a favour.
Well, what do you know? They turned out big moves for them and if someone is laughing here, they’re laughing at Juve for not utilizing them better.

This is a fair point but hasn’t been established Conte is a much better manager than Allegri?

Wouldn’t shock me that certain profiles would thrive under him.

Same dynamic doesn’t really exist between Pep and Arteta

I don’t think he has played midfield much for many years.

The simplest explanation for me is that we’re looking at him as an alternative to Hickey as the Tierney backup. Or to let him compete with Tierney for the job.

I just don’t really understand why he would come here, although maybe City is planning to buy a shiny new LB.

It’s not just to down to the mamager imo.
Bentancur showed glimpses in the past of a good player before growing stale at Juve and just getting lost in the shuffle with all the midfielders coming in. Kulusevski I always thought had untapped potential which is why I was so big on him when we were linked with a move for him. He would thrived here as well.

Sometimes a change of scenery and a little bit more spotlight and focus on you brings out the best in you.

So we went from signing Barcelona and Madrid rejects to signing Chelsea rejects and now City rejects?

If they think they’re being clever trying to convert Zinchenko to a midfielder because they can’t secure the guy they want…psh… idk. We’ll obviously wait and see, but I’m not thrilled.

Yes, they’re interested in Cucurella. But so are Chelsea according to Sun Exclusive yesterday so there’s gonna be a race for him.

Zinchenko plays in midfield for his country. If you remember, he got some spotlight in the Euros for Ukraine. Kinda carried them tbf.
I do remember people who haven’t watched him there before being shocked with how good he was on the role.
From what I have gathered from ā€œallegedā€ City fans online(I don’t believe they actually exist), they always wanted him and KDB to play together in midfield. Zinchenko on the left and KDB on the right.

So he’s the left 8 we’ve been waiting for?

He’s certainly better than Xhaka.

The wording Jack uses though is interesting.
Purely my interpretation of his piece here so don’t take this as fact, I don’t get the vibe that we’re interested in him as a top signing but rather than a move to strengthen the squad.

The 25-year-old is viewed primarily as an asset to bolster Arsenal’s midfield who could be utilised at left back when required.

I would hope we aren’t interested in him as a marquee signing but if City want 55m for a guy with one year left on his deal are they really going to give us discounts elsewhere?

No.

I think the likelihood of this move is actually very low. Contract till 2024, Pep likes him and even if he signs a new left back he’ll still want Zinchenko around because of his versatility, especially now with Fernandinho and possibly Gundogan going.
Plus, he’s on like 20k a week. He costs peanuts for City. Although, I think that might be what potentially turns his head if not addressed. Reckon he signs a new deal soon.

Zinchenko would be an incredibly astute signing. He’d immediately improve our depth and probably challenge for the first team in a number of positions.

I could imagine him being something like Milner for us, except with more mile left on the clock.

I also wouldn’t get too bogged down by the notion of signing City cast offs, it wasn’t that long ago that City got started by buying ours. Unfortunately we’re back at square one after near a decade of poor investment while they are one of the strongest squads in the entire game. We can’t emulate what they do pound for pound but if we can pick up a couple of gems like Zinchenko and Jesus then our squad will be better for it.

He’s not of the required level to play as a CM and as a LB he is defensively suspect, it works for City as they dominate the ball to.the degree they do.

For us, however, it would not be the same.

Why don’t we actually go out and get a LB or someone who is a very good CM, it’s a lazy signing in the extreme.

Not to be a picky prat, but I want a proper midfielder, not a utility man.
