Arsenal transfers 25/26

Your final point is the only one that makes sense. AMN at 24 can’t even do it in a weaker league. The likes of Tammy and Smalling actually stood tall in Serie A because they are good players.

I don’t even know if I think Nketiah is a good player, but he certainly has an opportunity here.

Maybe it will be like with Chambers where Nketiah will stay here too long and poison his career. Though I don’t think so. He’s scoring goals for us. We need goals.

It’s a no brainer for me. Take the contract and see where it goes.

Of course its the only one that makes sense because you aren’t being objective

You’re seeing it from a fans point of view and not the player himself so it’s no surprise to me tbh

See where what goes? Is he going to get that he is longing for? Let’s keep it real he’ll be back on the bench sharpish if the club bag their preferred targets.

No man it’s honestly the opposite.

Sure man

Doesn’t read that way, you want him to stay to play for us because what he’ll get what he wants? Or because we get to tie him down and sell him down the line for a fee when it inevitably doesn’t work out?

Staying doesn’t serve Nketiah as much as leaving does.

Dear God, imagine equating the honour of playing for Arsenal to this.

Stocks are definitely quite high for Nketiah right now in terms of getting a good package & choice of the club to move to.
So in a way financially & long term settlement wise, it serves better for Nketiah to move.

But from the standpoint of being a solid second choice of a big club, We is well placed now. If he stays & realizes his potential, he can persuade Arteta to only buy one striker.

The latter is quite a gamble for all parties.
Moving on is a safer bet and I suspect that’s what Eddie would opt for.

Arsenal hope to add a small number of players, but lift the quality of the squad substantially. [@TheAthleticUK]

They feel that the project, city & persuasive manager still make them a compelling proposition. [@TheAthleticUK]#afc

As a club, we might be a lot of things, but I wouldn’t describe us as a compelling proposition.
Which means we’re relying on the “project” and the thrill of having Arteta as manager to lure top quality players here, after failing yet again to get in the CL.

Looks like the Arteta PR machine is going to have a busy window. :grinning:

You might disagree but I feel we are a very attractive proposition for players. As we look to be on the up and players like being part of journeys

Brilliant post I agree, we’re honestly about 8 quality signings away from being a contender of sorts.

Indeed. We never did under Wenger.

Striker, CM and CB. Not bad but why don’t we just get Saliba back.

He’s right-footed

Some people just like to shit on us as if our club is a disaster and every other club is perfect.

But players actually look happy playing for us. And the connection between the team and fans is stronger than it’s been for a while. London is also an attractive location.

I keep hearing London is an attractive location, how is it more attractive than anywhere else in Europe?

People act like the teams we’re competing with aren’t Tottenham and Chelsea :ozil:

Exactly. Nobody would join those bum clubs.

I think London is probably one of the best cities to be really rich in.

There is just such a massive variety of everything you could ever want in London in terms of luxury restaurants, bars, clubs, property, swanky neighbourhoods etc.

You could basically eat in a different Michelin star restaurant every night for a year and still not try them all.

Not to mention the crazy mega-bucks mansions in the wealthy neighbourhoods outside of London etc.

It’s just a city that’s set up to cater to the super wealthy and the only city that can really compare in Europe is Paris and even then I still think London outranks it. There’s a reason why so many Saudis, Russians, Chinese etc. live in London.
