Arsenal transfers 25/26

That’s probably the way to go isn’t it?
Nothing good comes from these big wages.

Considering the rumours of Jesus and Tielemans being the two top targets.
Ignoring potential backups, if we landed them, would you be happy with this being our strongest 11 next season?

In comparison, I think this was perhaps our strongest XI this season:

We need good backups for LB and RB seeing as you can’t trust the first pair to not be injured

Sure, sure. Ignore that for a sec though.
Purely as a first team is that a solid improvement?

I honestly think it’s only a marginal improvement. But it is overall better. I think we really need a good wide player who isn’t young and developing, I’m not crazy about another season of just Saka and Gab with a tiny bit of ESR mixed in.

I personally think when everyone was fit this season we had a pretty good team.
That City game in January was probably our highlight of the season, I don’t think I’ve seen a City not having the control of the match for such a long time during a match. And this was during City’s best period this season as well.

Considering the first team keeps on gelling together and develop, Tielemans and Jesus could add a little bit of spark to that 11.

Makes me low-key look forward to playing City and Liverpool at the Emirates next season.

The season has been over nearly 18 hours and we haven’t signed anyone. WTF.

That team would be fighting for 4th-6th again.

Marginal improvement but countered by the fact we’d have to deal with more games.

Would I be happy ? Not overly.

I think the biggest impact we can make this summer is by adding adequate depth to ensure rotation happens more frequently without a massive dropoff.

It’s definitely an improvement but it’s not enough. Think it speaks to how limited we were at striker and midfield last season.

I still think lots of our starting players aren’t as good as we think.

But yes the depth is poor and you’re right it needs to be rectified.

Hypothetically speaking, if by some miracle we managed to keep our best XI fit this season, where do you think we would finish?
I think we would have overcome Chelsea and finished 3rd.

We would definitely have finished at least 4th if we had Partey, Tomiyasu and Tierney available. However the concern is that next season Manchester United won’t be as inept, while Tottenham will not be handicapped by Nuno. They will also be making improvements to their starting 11, so our current best 11 may not be good enough for Top 4 finish.

Jesus or whoever joins us as our new striker will obviously be a big upgrade, but I think we could be improving the squad in other positions too. Midfield is an obvious one, although I am not entirely sure if Tielemans is a decent upgrade over Xhaka. Another position that we can improve on is LB, Tierney is above average at best during the half season that he actually plays for us. I think CB and LW are also positions that we should be able to improve in, but for now let us at least get players that are clear upgrades in CM and LB to consolidate our Top 4 chances.

If our top targets were Sterling and Maddison then we would have a good chance of top four but I’m not sure that Jesus and Tielemans are going to make that much difference.

So with other clubs strengthening as well, we are going to really need proven quality just to keep up.
We’ll have a lot more games to contend with and we not only lack quality but also depth.

I know it’s likely Jesus and Tielemans will be our marquee signings but considering the bragging by Josh and Arteta about this being a big window, it could be quite underwhelming.

Only City and Liverpool won more games than us.

It was that three game losing streak which cost us, and I can’t look far past the manager if I’m looking to assign blame.

Sun Exclusive!
(I feel like always have to remind people due to The Sun’s reputation but their exclusives are almost always on point)

Players, relatives of players and agents leak to the Mail, Sky and the Sun more than most people would think.

The Vardy case has been shining a light on it a little
