Arsenal transfers 25/26

Exactly, he’s actually better. Anyway no complaints on White, I’m glad we got him.

The original point was English players generally being way overpriced compared to what they deliver. We’ve done well with White and Ramsdale compared to the usual trend tbh.

We also have a guy on loan that we paid 30m for, who’s playing so well he’s popped up on Madrid’s radar…

We tried to get Tapsoba and Leverkusen asked for 80m. We tried to get Kounde for ~50m(was it a clause in the summer?) but he didn’t want to come.
Prices are inflated for everyone with some sort of hype, unless they play for Arsenal where we actually pay people to get our players.

He aint going nowhere.

In fairness you kind of got me with White n Ramsdale, tried to weasel my way out but gotta admit it.

I just tend to hate buying English players, they’re generally shit and particularly all the ones we bought before those two were as well. Got that pic of the British boys signing contracts permanently in my head.

What about buying a cheap box striker for when we want someone like that and then getting Nkunku who could either play out wide, play 10 instead of Ode, or play the Laca false 9 role?

If we just want the best overall attacking player we can get, Nkunku might be the guy. And he can definitely play on the shoulder of the last defender and do this kind of thing.

We should already have him FFS

Was a snip at £17mil back when Emery had some interest

Emery was right on him then?

Yup, big miss by us.

We could have a relatively free run at him this summer and RBL are probably willing to sell given that he is out of contract in 2024. If we could get him in the 50m range and a more conventional physical box striker like Brereton Diaz in the 25-30m range, that would be good business IMO. Lots of options for how we line up and how we play.

He was in this case lol, damn shame we didn’t pick him up.

@Powderfinger he’s looked good in almost every game I’ve seen him, interesting player and I’d be on board for that signing for sure.

RBL are a selling club

Emery and getting his man at Arsenal just don’t mix

Personally I’d rather Fabian Ruiz at 50-60 mill over whatever Rice would cost which would be more than that.

I’d still prefer Rice TBH. Ruiz does look decent though!

On another note, anyone else like the idea of resigning Serge Gnabry who is entering his last 12 months with Bayern Munich…

Yes, very much so.

It’s a failure if we don’t go for him (or at least sound him out without tapping him up. Not sure how it’s done)

Yes, and both with plenty of PL experience. To me, that’s worth more than gambling on a couple of imports who may or may not hack it in the best league in the world.

Yeah I’d love Gnabry, but ultimately he’ll have better options than us.

He still might have a love affair with Arsenal, you never know. After all, that horrible old cunt Wenger has gone now.

Sending the poor chap to Pulis at West Brom was a like for like comparison when Gandalf refused to join the baddies and was held prisoner at Orthanc by Saruman.

Plus, how could you not be swooned by the Venkmeister? :vinai:

Not sure he would have that many options tbf.

Dortmund would be a weird move, City don’t need him and nor do Liverpool. Madrid will have Mbappe, Barca?? Can’t picture it.

Maybe some Italian clubs but he still has love for Arsenal from the looks of it. Think we would have a chance.
