All depends on what profile Arteta is seeking. Our period of good form came with laca leading the line. If he’s looking for a CF who’s good on the ball and can link up with others Morata is suitable.
If he’s looking for a pure goalscorer/poacher type, other names like Jovic will work better

I think there’s an issue with using that period with Lacazette to support that type of signing because the guys around him were in unsustainable good form but like most young players they now are no longer in such hot form.
Morata is a poor finisher with suspect mentality, sure it’s better than nothing but would underpin this window for what it was; an abject failure.

I’d give that a 2/10 for positivity, would basically mean we are considering him our no 1 striker next season and we know that he won’t net more than 10 league goals and 15 all comps.

Yeah, that looks right to me.
I know I complain about Hazard being a fraud and getting exposed when he moved to Real but Morata has frauded his way through some very big clubs. It’s astonishing.
Imagine if we get Morata and keep Aubameyang and Lacazette as well.

Before the window opened I didn’t think we’d make any significant signings and would play the rest of the season with the players we have.
What I wasn’t expecting was us to shift out several perfectly good squad players.
I know we’ve got no cup competitions and don’t have any European football but to go the rest of the season with so little depth is just negligent.

Yeah, same people who shit on Laca like to forget that even Laca scored more goals than him last season, playing considerably less to.
But scoring more than someone doesn’t mean he is worthy. Unless that someone is an Henry or Salah. Laca is fine as an option. But he shouldn’t be leading the line. I think that is the main point people are making.
