Arsenal transfers 25/26

With this and the Ben White wages thing it seems the media angle of attack from the club is to position itself as economically smart and sound. Which will look stupid as hell if we perform worse than ever this season despite out-spending everybody. Do they take us for idiots?

Mate you aren’t getting total football from Xhaka, Elneny, Lacazette, Kola, Holding, AMN, even the likes of Auba.

What is going through these fucking loons heads, we only have maybe 3 or 4 players at the entire club you could expect total football from. Furthermore we aren’t even targeting the correct type of players to get that style from.

Every fucking team wants a squad capable of total football but the reason it’s so rare is because you need to recruit with it in mind and that’s not easy, you can’t simply instil it into sub par players with 14 hour days.

I can’t find that tweet from gunnerblog. Seems fake. However I find him shilling big time over this project youth thing. I’m going to puke.

Honestly if I looked up and saw / heard Vinai giving me a motivational speech I’m not even sure how angry I’d feel. The guy is a worm.

It’s a parody, I was literally quoting Goebbels.

This is just PR nonsense.
We’re bottom of the league with no goals, no points, playing the worst football we’ve see and they expect us to believe these transparent lies.

He’s been here long enough to have made a difference but all he’s done is drag us down.

Arteta needs more fourteen hours a day to make this mess.

Yeah the point about White and Ramsdale holding value was very suspect too

Can tell the club spent the last days of the transfer window and the international break preparing this manufactured puff. The Athletic is compromised.

Which by the way, this only explains the incomings which is suspect at best. It doesn’t explain the disaster on the outgoings front.

We’ve only sold one player for cash and that’s Joe Willock.

Hold on, is that statement NOT fake? I swear it looked like the most obvious joke to me. Unreal if he actually said that shit.

Edit: Just seen that it is. Thank you I was questioning my whole sanity there.

If that’s a genuine quote from Vinai it really shows what a corporate suited fuck wit he is.

Like reading a load of gibberish.

Yeah I thought it must be.

Imagine being told you got to work 14 hours days for Mikel fucking Arteta.

I’d resign on the spot

Ughh Vinai, you are suppose to do English better than Englishmen

Albeit belatedly I have been reflecting on our summer transfer window and as promised to those of you who thinik I am too ā€˜positive’ towards Edu and Arteta, I will give my honest opinion as I said I would.

Overall, I am dissapointed with the window. I was right that we would do business on deadline day, but I also genuinely thought we would sign a midfielder as well, with Aouar the most likely. I would rate the window as a whole as 6/10 and therefore it falls short of my expectations.

I am pleased that the board have clearly backed the manager and we have spent a considerable amount of money. I am very pleased with the signings we have made. Lokonga looks like a bargin and I think we have two very good signings in White and Odegaard. Tavares looks promising as a back up for Tierney and although I was sceptical about Ramsdale, he looked decent in his first game against West Brom and I loved his interview and his attitude. The only one I am unsure about is Tomiyasu, only because I know nothing about the player so I will reserve judgement until I have seen him play.

In respect of the outgoings, I am pleased with the Willock deal and Willian leaving is a fantastic result given the circumstances. Hopefully the other loan deals will result in permanent sales in the next summer window.

My dissapointment overall is threefold:

  • Firstly, we should have signed another CM. I am very concerned about our midfield options with Xhaka, Partey, Lokonga and Elneny, particularly if Partey cannot stay injury free.

  • Secondly, I am dissapointed that we still have Xhaka. I can understand the rationale behind refusing the bid from Roma, which was derisory, but he again showed in the Man City match why he is simply not fit to wear the shirt and needs to be sold.

  • Thirdly, we should have got rid of more of our fringe players, although I don’t blame Edu and Arteta for this fully, as some of the blame has to go to the players. Willian got a lot of grief, but Kolasinac has proved to be the real mercenary - personally I would make him play in the reserves until January, and then try and force a sale. I am also really dissapointed in Nketiah. If reports are true and we agreed a fee with CP, and he refused to leave/couldn’t agree personal terms, I think that’s really poor. Nelson on the other hand has my absolute admiration - agreeing to go on loan, abroad again, to get first team football, and signing a new deal to maintain his value - that has to be applauded.

I still fully support the direction of the club, as explained by Edu in his interview Edu on our transfer strategy. However, it is clear that we remain a long way off from a top 4 position. Chelsea signing Saul NĆguez on deadline day shows we have so much ground to make up. This isn’t going to happen overnight, and finishing 5th this season would be akin to winning to league given our current circumstances. That’s not going to be easy in itself, but it should be what we aim to achieve by the end of the season.

Arsenal transfers ins and outs for the summer window, with one week left for possibles such as Kola to Turkey.

Lists look voluminous, but many permanent outs are not first team players. Shameful really the transfer outs that had to fall back to loans instead of permanents.

This window is like having a wall with gaping cracks that make it weak and rather than fill the gaps with something solid to make it stronger, they’ve just bought the most expensive wallpaper to cover it.
