Arsenal transfers 25/26

The rumours making the rounds are that we are trying to make a move for Kessie and that Correa could be part of a swap deal for Torreira.

Most likely bullshit but would be jizz worthy if that actually happens. Transfer rumours getting me gassed despite being mostly let down for the last 16 years :joy: will never fucking learn

Remember this from the football Italia days, @Gio @SRCJJ they reliable?

Edit: As I posted this I seen AFTV did a transfer daily video as well.

Very hit and miss. My favourite paper to read over there simply because they’re graphic designers moonlighting as publishers so the articles are all print and put on your wall worthy. As for the content, eh, not so much.

Kessie will almost certainly renew, he is our best player snd on very low wages, the only player deserving of what dollarumma asked for… I think currently he earns 2.5m a season and we offered 4, in the hope Franck asks for 5 and we all live happily ever after.

Very interesting.
Xhaka, Guendo, Laca and Torreira all linked with moves for approx. 20m each. Apparently that’s the asking price for Nketiah.

Things are moving swiftly. :smiling_imp:

Until some actual clowns are shipped out (i.e. Xhaka and Guendo) or some new players are signed, I wouldn’t say anything is moving swiftly. This club can’t be proactive in the best of times, much less with the Euros and Copa America going on.

No business will get done until those tournaments are over. Won’t have new signings in time to be ready from matchday 1.

I haven’t seen Laca linked with any other club and the rest likely go for about 15m each. Hopefully a middling PL club comes in for Lacazette. Go on I’ve set up a joke for you there

Saw on Reddit that Villa are coming back for ESR again.

Beyond some of their fans laughing at our fans for apparently having meltdowns on Twitter over it, I wonder if someone like ESR is going to be sold to fund this supposed rebuild.

I don’t believe for a second that Xhaka, Lacazette and Torreira all leave for €20m each. That seems like wishcasting. So what assets do we actually have to fund a large portion of a rebuild and what assets are, in theory, off limits in order to have something left to build around.

If Villa offer €30m, do we sell? Do we wait to see what happens with Grealish and try to force their hand to overspend with whatever money Man City give them? Or do we decide that €30m for ESR is fine if we’re turning around and buying Maddison for €70m?

I’m not saying I’d like it, but I just have a hunch someone might be sold this summer to make sure the books stay somewhat balanced.

The only way you would even think about facilitating a move for ESR to Villa is if Grealish was coming here. They’re going to lose Grealish eventually so ESR would be a really logical replacement for him.

Saying that once we tie ESR down on a new contract I wouldn’t be answering calls unless people were offering Ā£50m+

No that’s small money for a very good homegrown player. It’d have to be 40-50 and in GBP to be considered. Given that’s the amounted quoted for White, Bissouma and Neves, we aren’t selling one of our best assets for less.

We aren’t getting those kind of figures for him period.

If we sell ESR to Villa at all we may aswell just give him to them, such is our inability to properly and swiftly spend money wisely these days.

Also, it’s all good and well chucking money at this problem we have but I’d sooner chuck money at a competent manager than a waste man like Arteta.

I honestly don’t see us not being in the same position next season and the season after that.

I don’t see why not, we got near that for Iwobi and Chamberlain. He’s one of our best assets and homegrown, why would we sell cheap? It makes no sense

We sold Iwobi for that price two years ago and ESR is younger and held in higher regard than him.

The fan backlash would be insane if we sold ESR for 30m.

He won’t be sold because we’d only accept a silly fee that clubs won’t be prepared to pay for what he’s shown so far.

That’s pre-Covid though, I simply don’t see us getting that kind of offer for him. I’m not saying we should sell cheap.

Let’s see how much Covid affects White and Maddison’s transfer fee, spoiler - it won’t.

Did I say that Covid precludes all clubs from spending big money ? No, don’t think I did.

We aren’t being quoted covid prices for PL players though. PL teams aren’t selling cheap to other PL teams. The other thing is, if Villa can spend Ā£40m on Buendia, they can do the same for a homegrown ESR

Like @AW49 says, we won’t/shouldn’t take sub value money and most teams likely won’t break the bank for him.

You’re saying we can’t get an Iwobi like fee for someone like ESR because of Covid, no? That’s frankly complete rubbish, Villa have that spending power as they spent Ā£35 million on a fucking championship player lol.

If ESR was realistically on the market, contract or not, who is to say Villa would even be the biggest club in for him.

Um why are you bringing up Iwobi? When the post I responded to mentioned £40-50mil?

Ā£34m including add ons
