Arsenal transfers 25/26

The fresh smell of cleanly cut grass is a distress signal it puts out when it’s under extreme trauma.

I feel you.
Watching Buendia last season was such a treat, I just wished he would be playing that football at my club, combining with Saka, ESR, Partey and the rest.

Gotta accept it though. The club has other priorities (Odegaard), right or wrong we’ll see next season.

I guess one of the positives here is that the club is actively pursuing their top targets and won’t be bullied to settle for alternatives. Let’s hope they land some good players.

They do this thing with grass cutting round here now where it’s done in stages. First, the outer perimeter, then a bit further in and finally maybe like a full week later the remainder. Apparently it’s all part of the rewilding plan or some shit but I’m pretty convinced the grass cutters union just struck a sweet deal. Either way I now get woken up three times instead of one when they’re doing it. Cunts.

I don’t usually work in urban areas but before Covid I was with the National Trust round the Causeway area and we could only cut during certain times and we would operate a little like that where you could leave certain areas untouched for the bird life and local animals plus flora. Yet at the same time we’d go hard as fuck with chainsaws and just decimate the land scorched earth policy. Weird field conservation.

Though anyone looking to cut grass aggressively needs to reach out to their conservational rangers and volunteer- the sheer amount of stuff you get to destroy in the name of conservation is beyond cathartic.

I’m not particularly fussed about not acquiring Buendia. I also believe that Villa would’ve been able to guarantee him first team football - Buendia fitting into our system would require wiggling.

Dreaming if you think we couldn’t guarantee him first team football also.

In place of Pepe? I’d hope not.

He’s capable of playing across the front 3, he’s currently more advanced as a player than ESR for example.

Always believed Buendia payed on the right, and pushed into the centre occasionally. Almost entirely sure he does.

If its not meant to be, it’s not meant to be.

The right is his preferred position, he has the tools to do more than that though.

Didn’t he say the other day that #10 is his preferred role?
Anyway, interesting to see how Villa use him. Grealish, Watkins and Buendia. :flushed:

Well right is the position he is used most I should have said.

Willian also said this.

Buendia is a RM.

Didn’t Willian say he is could play there(not that it’s his preferred position)?
Anyway, Buendia is an attacking midfielder similar to Nasri, Rosicky and Cazorla.

Are we not thinking that they’ve maybe done this with the thought that Grealish could very likely be leaving this summer? To me that’s what this move could suggest.

Initial reports said that they’re not bringing Buendia to replace Grealish but to add to the team.

They’re quite rich let’s not forget, they’ve spent 200m the past 2 years since coming to the Premier League.

I think Grealish stays unless the Kane move doesn’t happen and City bid something crazy for Jack.

Yeah I still feel like there will be enough pressure on them to sell eventually, but possibly not this summer

I think if they finish the window with both Buendia and Grealish(and now with Watkins going into his second PL season) they have a very good chance at getting a European spot and challenging for a cup.

I think if Grealish sees Villa progressing and showing ambition he’ll stay there and won’t request a move.

I think they’re going to continue to progress, how much they can really push the for top 6 or so places I’m not sure though. Their side just got even more interesting for sure.
