Arsenal transfers 25/26

£29m for a young promising defender on <£100k a week who can go straight into the first team seems fine to me, we’re not going to find better value anywhere else

I don’t know how reliable is this, but i’m glad Guendouzi has been on a humble pie diet this summer, no concrete interest from other clubs and the fa cup win should teach him a lesson so he can get his act together…i actually rate the kid but he won’t be going anywhere with that spoilt brat mentality.

Yeah hundred percent agree, and hopefully he will also get a hair cut!

I completely agree and this could be a time to buy and raid some of the French teams for their best players. I only want us to add real quality to our squad though, so would sooner invest big in one or two really top players rather than buying 4-5 average players that don’t improve the team.

Partey should remain our priority this summer and then we should look to build on that.

Aouar looks like a top prospect, and I would also take Depay (if we are planning to deploy Willian as a #10). I would take Dembele as a replacement for Laca, but only if we used Laca to secure Partey.

Anyone else from Lyon who we should be looking at?

Question for people who watch Partey more than me.

Do you guys think he can also become an offensive asset, with goals and penetration as well as his defensive capabilities? Could he be a complete midfielder?

Because we badly need some goals and penetration from our midfield and while Aouar sounds great I struggle to see where that comes from when thinking about any potential midfield.

Yes I do…I think in our team he could become a box-to-box midfielder, but the impressive thing for me, is how he is able to intercept play and then pass successfully forward to help build attacks. We really lack that at the moment, but could see him taking the ball forward himself and driving at the opposition defence as well as doing his defensive duties…

Well yes but I think for us, increasing CM creativity more than anything is about changing formation.

In our 5-2-3/3-4-3 with a deep #9 and two central midfielders who sit back in front of our defense half the game, creativity comes from wide mostly. I think in that setup Partey would be Xhaka but better at most things, as well as being able to stand in for Ceballos, not a slick on the ball but better defensively.

If we change formation to some 4-2-3-1/4-3-3 I think he could definitely do something like the complete midfielder you mention, behind that #10. That’s more like what he does in Atlético’s 4-4-2, where their wide players and Partey all work hard defensively yet still contribute in attack sporadically, they have several ways to get the ball forward to not be too one-dimensional.

Remember Partey is from Atlético’s youth system, he was lifted up from by Simeone, and was eventually phased in off the bench. He knows Choloball well, where everyone does a bit of everything but stay defensively sound. Being tailored for a style like he is makes it slightly harder to guess how he’d perform at another club.

Jesus man leave them some players.

They can always have some of our squad players in return…

We’ve got Pepe-Auba-Willian upfront. Don’t think Messi will be happy to sit on the bench :joy::joy:

Ronaldo Messi team up needed please.

Just stick 8 workhorses with competent running and passing behind them and let them carry the attack.

Perfect end to this era :bergkamp2:

There would be something beautiful about watching Messi and Ronaldo play on the same team and ride off into the sunset together…

I’d like to see Messi at PSG

You have to say that sound almost magical, scenario worthy of a top film.
