Arsenal transfers 25/26

Depends how they perform but on paper this looks strong:

…Auba
Willian…Coutinho…Pepe
…Cebellos…Partey
Tierney…Saliba…Luiz/New CB…Bellerin
…Leno

I would rather:
Coutinho Auba Pepe
Xhaka Ceballos Partey
Tierney Saliba Luiz/New CB Bellerin
Leno

With Lacazette and Willian being Squad players, (if they’re in the squad).
I think 4-2-3-1 is becoming outdated with teams playing a CAM getting overrun in midfield. Xhaka has shown in recent weeks he has got 2 sides to his game, and being in a 3 should be enough to support having 3 fairly technical players in midfield.
The front 3 can then interchange fairly easily

The fact that you two(@HotCrossGuns and @arsenescoatmaker) are mixing up potential line-ups which would leave some really good players on the bench says it all.
It’s been 3-5 years since we had a strong squad. Amen.

Huge L for Dean. Has been vocal about Willian being a fake rumour.

He should stick at covering news from others rather than pretending to have insider info himself.

I like Willian a lot and understood why Barca wanted him. Hope he comes in.

Chelsea’s best player along with Kante.

No he’s not lmao

A lot of you are going to be frustrated a hell if we sign this guy, he simply ain’t it

I’d take Coutinho on loan or Willian but don’t really want both. They’re both best as wingers and signing both leaves few minutes for players like Saka and Martinelli. We need to bring those players through if we’re serious about building a team for the future.

I think the bigger priority is a real midfielder like Grealish who can carry the ball and create. Neither Willian or Coutinho fits that bill. Grealish is probably too expensive but type of player is what we need.

A Partey-Ceballos-Grealish midfield in 4-3-3 would be beastly.

If all that happens it will be a very good window.
The first team will have several quality upgrades, which is what we have been lacking, and a strong bench as well, with players like Lacazette, Saka, Torreira, AMN, Soares, Xhaka, Martinelli and plenty of CB’s.

So if we could get rid of high earners like Ozil and Mkhitayran as well as a few defenders, we’ll have quality rather than quantity.

From Arteta’s point of view he needs this to happen rather than our usual lack of urgency in the transfer window.

It’s affordable, as we are one of the wealthiest clubs in Europe, so it’s up to the board to match his ambition and give him what he needs to drag us out of mid table and up challenging for the CL, where we belong.

Would be class but just a pipe dream unfourtunately

Having 4 Brazilians and 1 Portugese player here will make it easier to sign the up and coming Brazilian and Portugese players

I think that side would give us a good shout at top 4 and the EL. How we lineup, I don’t know. I think if Arteta can find the right CB paring and a solid DM, we could be playing a 4-3-3 more than the 3-4-3, adjusting when needed. I think if Auba and Ceballos stay, we’ll likely start with a similar lineup to what we have been doing on a 3-4-3 but that will be just until the new players settle and find their place. I think our startnig XI may very more bring those players in. Willian, if fit, may be able to hit the ground runnings, but they’ll all need a little time to settle in at Arsenal. Plus some of those may not join us until further down the line. Window is open until Oct. Coutinho still had the CL. Of those players, Willian would be the most likely to join first.

On the flip side I think people are going to be happy with what he offers.

I’d much rather we have someone like Willian to rely on than Nelson or pinning our hopes on teenagers.

I honestly think his arrival gives us time to let the younger players develop with less pressure and expectation.

Never been a fan and won’t change whether he signs for us or not.

Flatters to deceive, but yeah he’s better than Nelson and co but doesn’t move the needle for us.

And you want him on a three year contract?

I just wonder what kind of salary he’ll be looking for. I think he’s on £120k/wk at Chelsea. I wouldn’t want to pay him much more than that, especially if we go crazy with a 3 year deal. I’m all for Willian as long as he is the best we can get in that price range. £150k/pw is £7.8m a years, so depending on what sort of sign-on bonus and agent fees come into play, I’d think we’d want to aim keeping his cost over 2 years to around £20m.

By intense he means arsenal have been leaving screaming messages on the answerphone begging juve to sign him.
