Arsenal transfers 25/26

Buendia does look very Santiesque. However he just signed a new contract and has 4 years to run on it. That means you’d have to pay them a shedload

A shed load less than you’d have to pay for Grealish I imagine

I don’t know about that. We’d be taking both PL clubs best players off them. And I tend to think Grealish is more what we need with his pace and ability to make his own goals. I’m not sure either can regularly play as an 8

Haha completely forgot we even had Mari :joy::rofl: I Agree, was just showing were Partey would play as I was confused as to why there was a debate between him and Beundia. Because Partey signing is addressing a different area in the squad, which is as needed as a creative midfielder. But Yeah agree with your setups

Dont know why you put “both PL clubs” when Norwich is now a Championship club, that’s got a double impact in that Norwich have more need to sell, and is Buendia going to be happy playing in the Championship?

The next point is that while Grealish is Villa’s undisputed best player, Buendia wasn’t even getting played every week, he had quite a few patches in the season when he only came off the bench, and there are a few players in the mix for Norwich’s best player/talent.

What we need is a creative midfielder. Lacazette, Pepe, Aubameyang are all pretty good at finishing, but none of them are highly creative or great passers of the ball. You’ll get more goals from Grealish (to start with at least), but we’ve got the goalscorers, we need a chance creator which both players can fulfil.

Daniel Farke says it will take “stupid” money for Norwich to consider selling their best players despite their relegation to the Sky Bet Championship.

The Canaries boss says the club’s decision to invest in infrastructure and general reluctance to gamble in the transfer market with big-money signings means they are now in comfortable financial position where they do not need to offload their prized assets.

Fair enough I hadn’t really followed the relegation battle. So you’re right he should be cheaper. Will we be in for him? I don’t know

Haha the perils of drinking and browsing OA

Perfect. We are known for making “stupid” offers.

KBD is comfortably the best player in the league.

No denying it mate. I’d say second best after Messi.

Stands above everyone else when City are at their best and when damn near everyone else dropped off he should deservedly win player of the year.

Just a amazing player all round, will probably be the best midfielder in PL history when it’s all said and done. It’s a pleasure watching him play.

I think KDB came out to say that he actually should be credited with two more assists (both vs. Arsenal funny enough) but they took minor deflections which took them away from him.

Either way he’s a mercurial talent. He’s the second best player in the world behind Leo Messi and that gap isn’t even as big as it once was.

The guy is a fucking animal, the way he glides through players m, his passes, ridiculously accurate crosses, finishing, long range shot, strength. Hands down on another level to anyone else in the PL, probably the 3rd person in the Ronaldo Messi league for his position!

Smart

Santi played predominantly as a winger before coming to Arsenal. He started playing more centrally in England.
Ozil was established as a #10 at Madrid, although he covered for Di Maria at RW when needed. IIRC he played there in his big performance against Barca.
Also, he played on the wings in the WC 2014.

I’m sure any club in their position would say that, they’re not going to want to give away their best players. At the same time I’m sure they will be more willing to sell than those in the PL, especially if there’s some pressure from the player to want to play in the PL.

At the end of the day if they want too much for him we won’t be buying, he’s not the only option

Yeah, I mean they can say it all they want but they’re dropping back down to the Championship now and players will agitate for moves back up to the PL. I can’t see how the pandemic and the relegation won’t have impacted their finances enough for them to be forced into selling the likes of Aarons and Buendia.
