Priorities sound about right… not getting much done we 40 million net - still believe we will spend more than that, but certainly CL would help.

I wonder how much difference there really is between reaching final of Euro and getting knocked out in first knock-out round… possibly less than 10 million.

Lel 40m and all we need is a b2b, wide forward, and a CB :joy::joy: yooo @Maverick79 wut u think of Ornstein bandying about the 40m budget number??:grin:

On a serious note, Rabiot on a free would really help but he’s not a b2b midfielder is he??

Also, that last bit about FFP - anyone got any serious analysis of what we can spend and be technically in compliance?

That’s my favourite part. As if there is ever going to be any risk of us breaching FFP rules.

Not sure of the numbers but i’d imagine it’s not something we need to worry about.

Imagine generating hundreds of millions each year, playing in the richest league on earth and having an abundance of money in your reserves and only having £40m to spend lol

There is no way we only have 40m, someone’s siphoning the money out of the club :arteta:

Absolute fuckery.

We’ll never escape from this fog mediocrity like this, fan base has been played for fools for a hot minute.

Every penny in our cash reserve.

I’m honestly not sure that is true though… I will have to look up the rules. I think the reason we had limitations earlier were LEAGUE FFP, which was about escalating wages rather than spend on transfers… not sure exactly how UEFA looks at it, but I think it had to do with losses - so even cash reserves could be losses if it is revenue - expense calculation.

Yea I don’t actually know for certain either but it would be truly dumb if it wasn’t.

Found it - from Goal.com:

The crux of FFP regulations is the break-even requirement, where clubs are ordered to not spend more than the income that they generate, and that they must balance their books over the course of three years

Protest time? :henry2:

This is me being an idiot here. When they say income, is that gross?

Thats vague enough in fairness. Just write down the assets a bit. Be grand.

hehe IIRC you can have SOME losses, it just has to be within some amount…

Also, I have no f*ing clue how City are able to even come close to complying - absolute joke… if they enforced things properly, zero chance imho. They aren’t allowed to just pump money in as ā€œsponsorshipā€ from owners - it actually has to be ā€œfair market.ā€
