Arsenal transfers 25/26

Because release clause has to be paid in one go?

Makes sense to stagger the payments rather than have to pay the 50 in full

Sociedad can’t believe their luck lol

Release clauses require full payment up front. I think the chavs did this with Enzo where they paid more but got to stagger the payments as opposed to paying 100m in one hit.

Makes sense

Probably gonna end up around £60m to agree on that

I think Arsenal will make a move for Evan Ferguson. He feels like the most realistic and obtainable target and given Brighton are okay with sending him on loan, I think that will get done.

And of course, they’ll have to send Neto back to Bournemouth.

Striker who can’t get game time for Brighton will be Arsenal’s choice?
Why would Arsenal do that?

Especially considering that adds more work to find a new goalkeeper.

We can only loan 2 Premier League players, so as you say any loan deal means we would need to send Neto or Sterling back - we potentially committed to season long loan deals so this may not be possible, but even if not, if we sent Neto back, we would need to sign a backup GK this window as it doesn’t look like Setford is ready to be the No.2.

I think it is more realistic that we sign one attacking player permanently and another one on loan from abroad.

Unless they are paying us he does not represent good value

If you had to pick one out of the two reported long-term targets in Sesko and Williams to sign right now, who would it be?

  • Nico Williams
  • Ben Sesko

Coman mailsport, not this again

Williams would be slightly better but Arteta seems quite keen on Sesko who’s still a very young and more of a goal scorer, which is what we’re desperate for.

It’s unlikely we’ll get either in this window but Williams and Gyokeres, along with Zubimendi in the next window, would be about the best we’ve had.

Sesko’s gonna be a popular transfer on here :eyes:

Have gone for Nico purely for adding depth to the role and our need for a while there.

I can’t wait to sign Sesko though :white:

RBL’s attack just isn’t firing the same way this season in general but Sesko has 21 non-penalty goals the last two years on a npxg of 11.4. He is a top, top finisher in the making and just needs more service. He has all the tools to be a top striker in terms of phyiscal ability, finishing with both feet, and heading ability. He probably still has much to learn in terms of the finer points of playing the position but I think (a) he could explode soon in the right side and (b) he has the ability to score from a half chance in a way that we are sorely lacking.

Not gonna lie mate, dunno what the numbers say but whenever I’ve seen him he’s wasting chances away like you’ve never seen before(I think there’s a positive to that, which is that he gets in those positions in the first place).
I don’t see a top, top finisher in him just yet.

However, there’s definitely lots to work with there.
He’s a huge lad with a good leap and very quick too. Has a missile of a shot in him which can become a huge asset eventually, and his left foot ain’t too bad either.
He seems to be decent enough at carrying the ball as well.

His hold-up seems a bit meh, probably the aspect he needs to work the most if he were to come here and succeed.

21 goals on a npxg of 11.4 is a ridiculous return. You’d want to see a larger sample of course but to me the eye test backs it up.

Every striker is going to miss chances. If you look at his shot maps here he really hasn’t missed a lot of big ones this season.
