De Jong’s best position is the single pivot. For which we have Rice. I don’t think we should sign him.

With Arteta constantly trying to keep ahead of our rivals, there’s no guarantee that we’ll play with a single pivot next season. He has crazy dreams.
Rice could always play further forward, and have De Jong sitting behind him.
Besides, Jorginho isn’t getting any younger and Partey is made of polystyrene.

I think he should be on our radar. Apparently he’s absolutely dominating the portuguese league atm.
Both him and Zirkzee offer a grear physical presence, but this guy definitely seems like a more proficient goalscorer if you’re asking for one. His finishing looks pretty impressive.
We need another Odegaard type player for that left midfield position. What’s Rice going to do there? Imo his signing will only make sense if Arteta is going to go 3-2-2-3 full time. Otherwise it’s a waste of resources like Havertz is.
He was with Coventry last season and scored about 20 goals with them. Heard he has a big release clause.
Remember him from Coventry wasnt to bad in the championship. Just checking his stats for them he scored 43 goals in 116 appearances

Seems he only properly exploded in Sporting now. Their fans think they robbed Coventry.
Atm he has 28 goals in 31 games in all comps this season. As far as goal contributions go he somewhere arount top 3 players in the world atm.
I believe he is currently #1 and is going H2H with Mbappe.

I’m assuming his 4 seasons in the UK before he was 21 will make him a HG player for Champions League competition.
I mean Coventry only boughy him for £1.5 million and sold him to sporting for £21mill which isnt bad for a championship side like Coventry

- Nelson is sold, and we buy a Backup/rotation for Saka
- If any money is left, we strengthen further in defence

I think most of us could have written this… I still expect us to get some players we aren’t being linked to yet, as it was the case with Timber and Havertz last year.

Yeah I agree. For me, Zubimendi seems like the player most likely to join in the summer. I don’t think there is a clear front runner for striker or new winger yet. The rest then depends on injuries and departures.
