Arsenal transfers 25/26

If Edu managed to pull that off and KSE funds it I think it puts to bed plenty of arguments that ownership isn’t ambitious enough.

I think Barca would be an attractive option, as they stand a good chance to win the league again and he could add another winners medal from another country to his collection.

In terms of alternatives, I think this is where the Mount and Maddison rumours come from. Maybe Gundogan is the first choice but we are also looking at the other two. Or those reports that he intends to use ESR alongside Odegaard could also be correct. Particularly with Rice and Caicedo linked, as Caicedo could invert from RB, Zinny from LB which would give Arteta his 2-3-5 formation in possession.

Yes we know sub standard options like Castange from Leicester

I was enjoying the fact Cedric’s time is nearly over, I don’t need that all to start over again :joy:.

Add another quality striker to challenge Jesus and A CB and Right back. Then I be more impressed. I just don’t think three players even of that quality are going to assure us a PL or CL imo. But those three would be a great start for sure.

We’re not signing Castange to take us to the next level, we’re buying him because we need a cheap back-up in that department. Are there better options for the price? We’ll find out I guess.

With Walters a season off breaking into the first team, spending big in this department will be daft.

If we sign Caicedo we don’t need to sign a new RB, providing we keep Tomiyasu. Caicedo can cover RB, which has the added advantage of White being able to play RCB and alternate with Saliba. Arteta likes versatile players and this would be an excellent example of signing a player who can cover multiple positions.

We are not linked, as far as I can tell, but reading that Utd are open to selling Sancho this summer. We need to strengthen on the right wing, but he can also play on the left wing. Fee rumoured to be around £60m. I’d be very open to this. Arteta has a history of being able to improve wingers and we need competition for Saka and Martinelli. Trossard could become a false 9 in absence of Jesus, competing with Nketiah. Anyone else keen on this? I realise that Utd would be reluctant to sell to us directly…

Partey and Caicedo can be thought of as emergency cover at RB if needed, along with Rice as emergency cover at CB. The versatility both would provide extremely valuable.

I haven’t seen Sancho produce anything of quality since his Dortmund days. Would he really be a worthwhile addition to our squad?

No, and he’s on silly money too.

Sancho is not always a regular starter for Man U and when he does play, he’s often not very effective and for the sort of wages he’s on, he should be a serious upgrade, which he isn’t.

We should have learned from previous transfers involving rival clubs like Man U, that if they’re willing to sell us, like Sylvestre, Mkhitayran, Welbeck, etc, then it’s usually us who loses out.

Forget “All or Nothing”. I’d much prefer a documentary following Edu and his team over this summer.

Di Marzio on possible alternatives to Rice…

“Declan Rice and Moises Caicedo will have a domino effect. If Rice goes to Arsenal, Caicedo goes to Chelsea or Bayern. If Caicedo goes to Chelsea, Bayern can get Sofyan Amrabat.”

“These are, I think, the three midfielders who are eligible in the international transfer market for top clubs.”

“These three clubs [Bayern, Arsenal and Chelsea, i. Red.] apply for Declan Rice and Moises Caidedo. Caicedo will definitely leave Brighton.”

"Also Nicolo Barella, but I don’t think Inter want to sell him. But Barella is another midfielder Liverpool want. They have MacAllister, but they would also like to have Barella.”

“But it’s difficult for Barella to leave in this transfer window. Then it depends on the offers because at Inter any player can be sold if the offer is higher than the player’s value.”

Let’s get both and screw over Chelsea in the process

Rice and barella would be best tbh.

Not at 60m. Do think Sancho has talent though. Might as well save the 60m and trust ESR.

Just spent £80 on the new home shirt. We better be fucking spending.

I Klarna-Ed the shit out of the £80 though.
