I totally agree, wasn’t that long ago people were calling him the best cm in the league if not the world right now. All of a sudden he’s some shitter who can’t control a ball.

The only way I see us getting rid is if we find these allegations looming over him to be a negative for the club and true or false I can understand the club might feel it’s in their best interests to move on.

From a footballing stand point I’d be loathed to move on from one of the most elegant and combative midfielders we’ve had at the club for pushing on a decade

GMT Partey was incredible and a key component of our team. He’s looked mentally and physically gassed now and is better coming off the bench. No way he should be ever sold

Yeah fucking laughable that people are suggesting that Partey should be sold, it’s like they want our season to be a flash in the pan as opposed to a consistent contender for years to come.

Wouldn’t sell Tierney either, wouldn’t be easy to find a backup LB as good imo, so not worth the hassle.

Holding won’t fetch the 15-20 mill people are projecting in here either imo, although I’d fucking love to get 20 mill for him.

That is the thing. It’s far more logical, effective and a bigger priority imo, to go after a RB than a CB.
Especially after seeing how good and promising Kiwior looks atm.

Let’s say Kiwi is the real deal (hopefully he confirms that even stronger with these 3 remainig games), we have four strong options for the CB positions with Saliba, Gabriel, Kiwi and White. Who covers for White if he’s out himself, not covering for Saliba? Tomi from the hospital, in his spirit… Saliba? Partey?

Even if you get a CB, you still need a RB and you are quite optimistic if you’re relying on White to stay fit and play more than 50 games on top level next season, especially with the CL coming in.

There’s something about the way his form has dipped lately, his body language has been off, his concentration hasn’t been what it was. I think that wasted shot of his against Southampton when a simple pass would have put Odegaard in felt like the moment Arsenal and Partey started to part ways.

I was diagnosed as ā€œHypervigilantā€ last year, I’m very sensitive to other people’s moods, feelings, body language, what people’s eyes are saying, may sound like crap but it was a shock finding out that I’m not like normal people.

I agree with you in respect of Partey and Tierney. I’d keep both for next season.

In respect of Holding, I do think he would be a starter for alot of PL clubs and could easily command a £10-£20m fee.

If we are going to sell Holding in the summer, then we need another CB, especially if Saliba’s injury is more of a long term injury. We also need to guard against Saliba not signing a new contract (I remain hopeful he will). A new CB is 4th on my wishlist this summer., ahead of a new RB (5th).

Would Rice force a move?

I dont want this to be another Mudryk situation

Could get silly if they start demanding to much

Tbh it seems all players have their favourites but when it comes down to it then 95% of the time it’s about money and timing.

Rarely does a player force a move to a specific club just because they have a strong preference.

Really feel like we need to have some serious alternatives to Rice, as it’s looking likely WHam will try to play hardball or we could get outbid by another club.

Whoever pays the most nearly always get the player, then it’s down to the prestige of the club.
But if you’ve got both money and a better chance of winning trophies, as well as the best manager and players, you can get who you like.

Welcome to Man City. :grinning:

All posturing from west ham so far because they know he wants out and this summer is last chance to get top dollar. I think we’ll get him around the 80-90 mark and coming away feeling like that kind of fee is a win.

First time the RB been mentioned as a potential target?

I find it hard to believe Castagne would attract any interest with the season he’s having.

Dude should follow Leicester in the Championship.

Castagne is an awful right back. Half-decent wingback though.

If Rice is our no.1 target and Arsenal are his no.1 target then I believe it will happen. West Ham need strengthening all over the pitch and will want their biggest sale done asap.

I could be wrong but this feels like it’s a done deal. Though I said that about Tielemans and embarrassed myself.

Give Benny White number 5 when Partey goes, Rice can have ā€œ4ā€ and start to cure the OCD I’ve got over recent squad number awards.

He’ll probably take Rob’s #16.

Well that number’s in serious need of a revival after the last two occupants.
