He’ll rotate with Jesus and Eddie until one proves they deserve to start.

Am I second guessing him? I’m actually saying there has to be plan for any player that is being brought in.
I think the club wouldn’t bring Felix in just for depth, and neither would Atleti or Felix accept that.
The club has to have a long term prospect in mind if we sanction this deal.
Are you not second guessing him?
Your writing like you know whats going to happen, and what Mikel is going to do.
You write like you seem to know everything thats going on inside the club with transfers, tactics, player unrest, management etc.
Truth is we all know fuck all until it happens
Three players, one spot. Two of them are already at the club and settled, have proven to fill in the role well.
With a manager that doesn’t like to change his starting lineup often.
Btw, just to get straight to the point because I’ve already said it before.
If ESR or Vieira don’t claim that left interior midfielder role that Xhaka is currently occupying, there is a good chance Felix will.
That’s where I see him personally.
No shit, you’re in a forum with a bunch of Arsenal fans. What did you expect us to talk about?
Checkers?
It’s all talk around Arsenal really. Matches, players, transfers, the coach, tactics, etc.
Might as well shut the forum down seen as we all know fuck all end of the day.
Whole thing’s built on speculation and chit chat mate. You could use your logic to shut anything down on here including your own opinions.
Obviously
But theres a clear difference from saying “I think this will happen” to saying undoubtedly “this is what will happen”
Yann M’Villa is finally getting his move to The Arsenal.
Now that’s a fact.
Sorry if it came across that way. It’s probably the tone of the text without context. I’m just spitballing here based on what I’ve seen from the parties involved.
I think long term that will only happen if Odegaard ends up dropping deeper similar to modric career.
During games there are spells where it’s a necessity for xhaka to drop deep and form a temporary two in central midfield next to partey especially when on the backfoot. We still need someone in that 8 position who can play as an actual CM when the game requires it.
Yeah sure all those clips of xhaka not doing anything in those promising positions against Newcastle hurt, but that’s 50% of the role. Felix ESR vieira currently would all look like fish out of water if we’re under a lot of pressure and there required to sit in front of the defence in CM.
Personally, I think Odegaard already does that. He works a lot off the ball and comes quite deep at times. I think eventually both #8s will become a bit more symmetrical in their roles and we could even see them switching sides at times.
I’ve always seen Odegaard eventually succeeding Xhaka in that role amd being the one to partner up Partey in the past. That’s why I wanted us to sign another attacking-minded midfielder on top of Odegaard in 2021.

Agree. Even when we have the ball, Xhaka also ends up cycling back into a defensive position along the touchline quite a bit, especially when playing alongside Tierney. KT gets forward down the line, Martinelli drifts inside, and Xhaka drops back and to the left to be more of a distributor and shield against transitions. It feels like Arteta hasn’t really found another player that he trusts in this role, whether its Vieira, Sambi, or whoever and I doubt its going to be Felix.

I think that’s who Xhaka is but it’s also what Arteta wants. He could have brought Vieira on against Newcastle but wasn’t quite ready to sacrifice that shielding for improved ball handling and the ol’ razzle dazzle.
I think that’s why the noise from the club was that midfield is a summer project. There would presumably be more players available and possibly more clarity within the squad itself. I think we can all agree that Sambi is done here so that leaves potentially two spaces available.
Wins the World Cup, comes off the bench for the second half, on a hat trick. We should table an offer for the fake Argentinian.
He said this a bit unprovoked too. He was asked about the state of the market and how inflated evaluations are perhaps affecting Arsenal.
It’s great seeing this attitude rather than the complacency of Wenger.
How many windows did we hear him say, “we don’t need any signings, we have the players to win the league.” and then having to panic buy because of his negligence?
Arteta has turned the club round from having older and overpaid players like Ozil, Aubameyang, Lacazette, Torreira, Mkhitayran, Mustafi, Willian, Kolisinac, Pepe, etc, who were drifting along at our expense, to players that want to be here and be successful.
We need to sign a minimum of two quality attacking players in this window. Our bench last week was laughable.
