Ornstein update on Arsenal’s transfer targets…
-
Isak - “Apple of Arteta’s eye” but not available now or in the summer.
-
Sesko - “Isn’t moving this January, maybe in the summer - who else will be in the frame for him?”.
-
Gyokeres - “Not high on Arsenal’s agenda, and Arsenal not high on his agenda. Probably goes elsewhere in the summer”.
-
Mbeumo - “Not leaving Brentford this month. It would take something astronomical to change that. Maybe he will leave in the summer with 2 years to go but it will still take a hefty fee”.
-
Vlahovic - “Looked at him in the past. It wasn’t ever realistic in this window despite him having a bit of an issue at Juventus”.
-
Flip to loans. If Arsenal going to spend this January (owners prepared to spend and back Arteta if they can find the right player, but will detract from summer budget), so in relation to the loan market, Evan Ferguson is available on loan, but Arsenal already used their two domestic spots. So that ship has sailed by looks of it. That’s why it is so complicated.
-
Are Arsenal trying to do something? Yes. Arsenal are trying to do something. Think Arsenal will try to do something (think they need to do something given the importance of the rest of the season). Will it happen? Arsenal normally pull something off but can’t say.
-
Working on a deal with Nypan, but no decision made.
-
Arteta loves Nico Williams as a winger in the future, but not possible this month.
-
Alex Crook doubles down on Isak (Newcastle won’t sell) and Sesko saying he won’t move this window. Bit of talk about Osimhen but difficult deal to do, as existing loan needs to be cancelled and not sure he is the type of characte that Arteta wants. Arsenal willing to do business, no PSR issues, but will only pay big money for one of their long term targets (why more discussions held about Sesko).

Ornstein - Duran could enter the market. West Ham bid £57m. £80m is a price that Villa would consider. However, Arsenal are not interested in the player.
