Yeah, writing all that felt like rehashing all the stuff we’ve been talking about.
The Athletic is stealing material from OA.
It’s likely that Zinchenko will leave at the end of his contract and Jesus will be replaced because they’re both on high wages and aren’t genuine first team quality.
So if an established top quality striker or goal scoring winger is a priority for Arteta, like Gykores, Williams, Sesko, Isaak, or even Cunha, the club is going to have to spend around 100m or more, which means we’ll have to sell before buy.
As for Kiwior, he’s worth keeping because he’s young and versatile so good as cover in defence.
Why are we all pleading poverty the club is making close to £600m a season we just wanted to be well inside FFP requirements so we can easily get big transfers without being anywhere near breaking the rules. We can easily spend £100m+ without blinking.
It’s true we can easily afford to spend big like we did on Rice but people are saying we need another defender, as well as a midfielder and cover for Saka so that’s probably another 100m as well.
Also, players like Zinchenko and Jesus want to play regularly and are on high wages so selling them is probably best for us and them.
All of that seems highly speculative, I don’t see any specific insight there. Most of us could have written that really.
Not exactly ground breaking news as you and others have said…
If we sign a new forward, we may part ways with Jesus…really? come on!
It is pretty obvious that Jesus, Zinny, and Kiwior will all be potentially up in the shop window come the summer.
Neto is only on loan, so we still need to sign a good backup GK. We will obviously sign another defender, especially if Zinny leaves, and then there is midfield and attack, so it is pretty much 5 positions that we need to address in the next two transfer windows.
I am hoping the new ‘youthful’ addition to the midfield is Zubimendi (on the basis that he is younger than Partey and Jorginho!).
600m sounds a lot, but do we know how much we need to keep or how much net profit we need to have to be compliant with FFP?
Maybe our expenditure is pretty high also?
In the last window our net spend wasn’t much so we should be looking to spend big at the end of the season on at least a striker and midfielder, as well as cover for Saka and in defence.
So selling a few high earners like Zinchenko as well and Jesus shouldn’t affect FFP.
Shame our midfield is stacked now
lol if he was available for 20m euros it wouldn’t matter if we already had spains midfield from 2010, you’d still be crazy not to be interested.
Can’t see them selling for even close to that but he’d be a great Jorginho upgrade. Partey and Merino become the squad players, still enough room for all.
Stake adverts on Twitter. That app is so dead
As long as hes on that insane contract he won’t be moving anywhere. They can pay him off or let him go for free but they aren’t getting cash for him
I honestly don’t see what’s even remotely special about him. He has expensive flop written all over him for anyone who signs him.

Manu it is then
