And was still a better footballer than the guys losing their minds over it. Nothing wrong with a life outside the game. It’s probably healthy.

But was he a better footballer than 90% of the right backs in the league at that point? No, and that’s the problem.
Dude gave up on football and was too focused on other things rather than improving again imo. Should’ve just binned him when that was clear, sure he’s allowed to have a life but then you won’t stay at the top of the game.
