That mean he cut his holidays short, right? That’s good, sounds determined.
I genuinely hate to admit this, but I do think it has to do with Xhaka. In hindsight he was a lot better in the short combination and more creative than the players that came after him.
Obviously teams also figured out what we are trying to do and we haven’t adjusted to that.

this is a fair point tbh; Arteta’s tried to replace him with Havertz/Rice/Merino.. and none of them have really cemented themselves in that position.
I think it’s less Xhaka but more replacing him with Havertz/Rice in that role

Interesting that Arteta keeps flipping the midfield around, so that different combinations play together and all the midfielders get experience playing with the first choice defense and attack.
A lot of responsibility on Nwaneri here to knit play together with Norgaard and Merino as his partners.
