That’s because he isn’t.

Haha same, should never have turned it on

Nice one Mikky. Skied it lol :pepe1:

Guy rates AMN as a CM and yet Jeff seems nothing special to him. :man_shrugging:

Jeff may not turn out to be world class but there is no fucking way any competent talent evaluators sell him for 1.5m with 10% sell on and no buy back clause after he averaged most completed dribbles of any young player in France in his loan with Angers at age 19.

We won

Sorry, wasn’t saying that in regards to his price. Perhaps he could’ve gone for more. But honestly never really looked at him and thought the lad was special.

God damn there was pens?!

I turned it over the second the full time whistle went :joy::joy::joy:

It’s preseason guys come on.

No need to make huge conclusions based on nothing games, and these are the games where the players should test the limits and make mistakes.

Writing off a young player based on one half in a preseason friendly is madness.

I’m not bothered by the results in these games.
I know for the most part some kids are having a run out and that’s fine. What wondering though without seeing our perceived signings play yet, how do we get them to gel in two weeks. Also I still can’t define the system their going to gel into.
Obviously a couple are going to add by bringing their own dimensions, but think it’s asking a lot to make as good a start as some want.
Maybe I’m jaundiced by the end of last season but I can’t see our shape or style out there yet.

I also have no idea what the system will gel into and what the team will look like next Sunday.

is he new?

I hope we won’t be to angers about only drawing today

Yes, loan deal from Atleti.

ross nelson?

I think it’ll be a 4-2-3-1 or a 4-3-3 and that a lot of the time there won’t be much difference between the systems as the 10 will be a player like Ceballos that can switch places with one of the CMs. Thankfully, I think we’re done with three at the back.

I’m hoping that a three man midfield allows us to better control games, keep possession, and play through the center rather than relying on Xhaka to ping balls back and forth to wide players that can’t do much with them.

I expect us to press high a lot and to try to beat the press on the ground when in possession rather than giving the ball away cheaply.

Up front I think Pepe will almost always be first choice RW when available then some games we’ll have Laca in the center and Auba on the left and other games we’ll play one of the two of them in the center and then somebody from the Iwobi/Mkhi/Martinelli/Nelson group on the left.

Against Newcastle I think we’ll just try to get the points however we possibly can because half our first choice players (Bellerin, Holding, Tierney if he arrives, maybe Torreira, maybe Pepe) won’t be available.

Emery has chosen to play with the back four in five of the six friendly games played until yesterday, confirming the intention to use again that system and abandone the back three. For these reasons the acquistions of a new CB and Kieran Tierney look vital.

I think a new CB would be more vital if we were planning to play with a back 3! :mustafi:

Flying out to Barcelona in the morning, should be quite a fun weekend, and maybe Pépé will score a few

You’ll get Mkhi and maybe Iwobi.
