Arsenal away shirts were mostly white until the end of the 1960’s. So while there’s the obvious comparison with the Spuds it’s part of our history too.
Until 3rd kits became a commercial thing, Arsenal frequently kept a third option in reserve. Usually white and/or dark blue. In 1988/90 there was an all white shirt with blue trim that would have gone down badly, I’ve also seen a photo of the 1990-92 home kit shorts in red. My favourite miscellany were the neon yellow Puma shorts from 2016.
