How so? We have only replaced Edu, after being withouth a DOF for six months. He’s only yet to prove he’s an upgrade on Edu, or at least as good as him.

He’s shown himself to be one of the best operators in the business at Atletico. How could he not be seen as an upgrade on Edu?

Atletico have not been shy in bringing in forward players during Berto’s time there. Time to get busy. Left winger and striker please.
Yeah, he has a rich experience working at Atletico at their best era in this century (and longer) but as I said earlier his singing record ovet the last 5 years or so doesn’t impress me that much.
Overall, I support this no doubt, he’s a proven guy, probably one of the best candidates out there, but Edu has been doing a very very good job too so it’s hard to see him, or anybody, as an upgrade automatically.

I know we laugh at him and BBQs quite a bit bur clearly he’s someone that’s well respected in his circle.
And let’s be honest, while he probably wasn’t perfect, he’s been heavily involved in getting us from lingering outside the CL and having people joke about Leicester taking our place in the Top 6, to competing for major honours the past 3 seasons and having a top 3 most valuable squad in the world alongside City and Madrid.

I believe he also has not been shy in selling players to bring in cash, so perhaps that’s something to prepare for.
