Why would Newcastle sell him for less than £100m when he has a contract until 2028, has not agitated for a move, they’re owned by people with unlimited money and huge ambitions, and they don’t have to worry nearly so much about PSR anymore given the ruling on associated party transactions?
I don’t think Liverpool can plan for a single signing on that scale with the three amigos contract situations being what they are.
Salah is irreplaceable whoever they get is a downgrade
Agree. Oh it’s me lol
No chance Newcastle let him go
Need Brighton and Bournemouth (been on a sneakily shit run) to keep picking up points.
Isak can force a move if they don’t make the CL, otherwise can’t see it.
and if they did we pay £150m+ and knowing our luck we have him for preseason and his knee fails.
Need Newcastle to miss out on CL to have the slightest chance.
Even with that he doesn’t seem to be in a hurry to make a move.
And wouldnt be coming here if he was.
I don’t disagree but what destination you speculate he’d end up at?
Liverpool if it’s in England.
We need Newcastle to finish lower than 5th for us to even stand a chance. Even then it’ll still be north of £120m
Nah, Newcastle ain’t gonna be title challengers anytime soon, so 100m should be enough. And project Arteta > project Slot even if it doesn’t look like it that way this season. Just hope Isak is smart enough to realise it and choose us over the scousers.
I’d be surprised if Newcastle are open to selling him for anything less than what we paid for Rice tbh, under most circumstances.
Any particular reason why?
They will ask for astronomical money as they should.
140m plus
pay it
We’re going to stick to the plan and buy Sesko, in my opinion.
And pay a lot less while doing so.
I can’t see us getting Isak. Feels like all stars in the cosmos would have to align for this to happen.
Also that’d probably be about 70% of our budget , when we have like 5 positions to sort out.
Let’s entertain it for 30 seconds.
Jesus, Trossard, Nelson and Vieira our - 75m amd 500k a week off he books. Isak in for 140m and 300k a week. Net spend 65m
