Has there ever been a player more famous for his consistent injury record than for his footballing ability?

This guy.

Darren Anderton?

GĂśtze. The fat fuck.

Funnily enough he and Carroll were the others I could think of, but even he wasn’t as injured so frequently as Diaby.

We have also had plenty of other candidates though.
Rosicky, Hleb, Gibbs, Wilshere, Walcott, Chamberlain, Ljundberg etc, have all spent a large part of their careers on the physic’s bench.

Abou ‘back in training’ Diaby

Just to get injured during training again.

Arsenal never forget their heroes…

Out of curiosity: which was his last game for us?

I don’t remember, maybe the League Cup game vs Soton at The Emirates.

According to Transfermarkt, you’re correct. Played 67mins in the LC against Southampton. 23rd September 2014.

Did play for the Unders 3 times after that. But that don’t count.

a game I doubt I will ever forget, a shattered glimmer of his potential, but commanding and elegant all the same.
