Aaron Ramsey

Leaving it all on the pitch in every game he plays.

Big ups Rambo

Only 2? He must be watching his weight now.

Really giving his all for this club before heā€™s off

Agree with the first paragraph so much, the way people talk about him is criminal.

The second paragraph is :sob::sob::sob::sob::sob::sob: and have actually missed your absurd rants.

His double touch assist late on for Auba was absolute filth. Auba fluffed the chance though and robbed Aaron of a world class assist.

Another stellar game from Ramsey was it ?

Gonna miss him so much. He is an added value on his current form. Hopefully we can replace him well in the summer.

Seems a lot like he has something to prove all of a sudden, almost like he had a big contract riding on his playing well. He wants to keep impressing Juve. Heā€™ll be back to his inconsistent maddening self in no time, once heā€™s settled in Italy. Tbh this is for the best, only wish weā€™d have got some money for him. Still an opportunity to improve our midfield and the prospect of not having this guy on our books being massively overpaid, is a win in itself.

Massively overpaid? Fuck off :joy::joy:

200k + per week is massively overpaid for Ramsey, sorry to tell you. Heā€™s had a good couple months, where the fuck has this guy been for the 5 years prior?

Edit: actually if Ornstein is to be believedā€¦take a look at this.

If true, yes massively overpaid, thatā€™s jokes right there. Juve are smoked out af for paying this dood, whoā€™s hammies are hanging by a thread, 400k per week :joy::joy::joy:

You donā€™t think? Chelsea have a transfer ban and Spurs still probably wonā€™t have a transfer budget. Both could lose their best players. United also have quite a few older players

Just checked and Spurs transfer budget should be down Ā£45m per season for the next 20 years. If they ever drop out of the CL theyā€™ll been in all kinds of trouble.

FWIW, here are the average points by finishing position in the Premier League

            Last 10 Last 5

First 88.5 91
Second 81.6 81.8
Third 75 75.4
Fourth 72.2 72.6
Fifth 68.8 70
Sixth 64.8 66

This year extrapolating out, we get 94, 92, 77, 76, 75, 73. Based on these numbers, that is a pretty tough year, especially at one and two, but also at every slot to average other than just above average at 3. If you look at mins and maxes, same story.

I dunno, I think this year ManU is on the comeback and will end up with a respectable points total after handicapping themselves with Mou - they have a very decent squad. But more importantly, Spurs and Pool are in the absolute peak of their powers right now and that isnā€™t reliably sustainable for either, especially Spurs.

Always hard to compare years/eras, but from three to six right now, it is a battle and that is very unusual. And our top two are projecting over 90 points, which on average can get you top. Add to that we have 2 teams in Europa final 8 and what, 4 teams in CL final 8 - I think there is very good argument to say this is an anomalous year on the plus in the PRem.

Based on this, the average doesnā€™t mean much these days.
We can have a Leicester City season, that every powerhouse screwed up.
We could have a season like this year, 2 teams are going to get 90+

Well measures of centrality give some basis to decide how we are comparing, as well as variance. To your point, variance is up thereā€¦ Surprisingly though, variance is pretty small for 3rd and 4th place. Third place has min of 70 and max of 82, with the last 3 years (including this) being 78, 77, 77.

Fourth min is 66 (LC year) and max of 79, again last 3 years being 76, 75, 76. Basically 3rd and 4th place are on par with last 2 seasons in terms of points total.

Just IMOā€¦ I think we just need to do good in every single game.

Just like this season, you may still end up short even getting 90 points.

Just do our very best in every game, who cares how many points we have.

Well of course, but if you are trying to gauge performance over a season, points total is really the best measure imho. We actually have an outside shot at 80 points imhoā€¦ we win 6 and draw 2 and that is it. I predict we will win 5, draw 3ā€¦ that is still 78 points, not bad all things considered.

Competition is tough but Iā€™d expect a team or 2 to drop a good bit below their average points per game. Always a few teams who drop off and a few who start picking up. IE one team gets out of contention and falls apart. Another team distracted by Champions League, etc

yeah the other factor will be teams will find their place mathematically and may not have same incentive to fight for points

So he wonā€™t have played in either of the two games for Wales.

Didnā€™t even realise he was injured
