Good signing for Utd for where they currently are. Not going to return to the top with him but will help with the transition. Let’s hope we had some add on clauses in the deal with Southampton!

The fact that I wasn’t asking for him to be replaced doesn’t mean that Raya hasn’t proven to be a better goalkeeper, in fact I couldn’t say that there is a single aspect of goalkeeping that Ramsdale excels at better than Raya. Raya is better in the air, particularly at claiming crosses, much better with the ball at feet and this season I think we’ve seen more than enough to say that he’s a better shot stopper.
Despite not asking for him to be replaced like you mentioned, I also didn’t completely lose my head at Arteta like a lot of our fans did because it was obvious why he’d be brining in Raya and risking creating a huge story about the GKs: He thought he was a better keeper and would improve our team, and I’d say he was right.

This doesn’t mean Ramsdale is a poor keeper
I would argue that Arteta wasted funds which could have been used for an attacker.
I would say we lost a trophy or two to have the luxury of having Raya.
I am losing my mind at the fact that we wasted money on Raya, Calafiori and Merino instead of signing a left winger.
We could have been better off with Ramsdale + Left Winger and I assure you we would have won the title last season with a left winger.
What’s the point of marginally improving the team only to go trophyless
Ramsdale was a good keeper for us. Raya’s just better.

Credit for being part of us becoming a legit team again but Ramsdale is overated and if given the chance will be found wanting at another big club
Hasn’t had a big impact at Southampton ranking very low in save percentage which is bottom five and also his post-shot expected goals is bottom five too, overall been very poor and ultimately not worth the outlay.
You can see why he is at Southampton, sure he may arguably be better than that but no team was wllling to go in for him for a reasonable fee for an Enlgish keeper who should now be entering his peak years
Yes, he was good for us for a time but his current situation says a lot both in terms of performances and location.

Was somewhere between average and slightly below average with a few highlight saves as Arsenal keeper. There’s no doubt Arsenal fans massively overhyped this guy because of bis pashun and likability

I agree that the window wasn’t great as a whole, but the Raya funds had essentially been spent before the summer even started because we knew as soon as he came on loan we’d be exercising the option. I think there’s more of an argument about the other two signings, despite being good players in their own right.
