Yes, I’m trying to forget. Why did you remind me that?
Maybe that is why his form has been so poor recently…he is confused he was thinking it was his job to be a GK
My thoughts as well. All of us want a forward and we did try with Jesus but we spent years conplaining the club was ok with players that didn’t meet a certain standard and when we go ahead and try to upgrade a position, it still gets criticised.
I do think the lack of quality available and the list of clubs also looking at a forward are key part of this equation.
Yep. Vlahovic might have been it. Isak might have been it. Jesus very nearly was it. Salah was pretty much a punt for Liverpool.
Huge luck involved in these things. Didn’t pan out for us unfortunately.
You can rotate & play strikers and at times play both of them together. There is a big difference.
Surprise surprise

Newcastle have PSR to worry about which is a big reason they couldn’t prioritise signing Ramsdale. I’m sure they’d love to have paid a similar fee to what Southampton paid but the books wouldn’t allow it at the time.
I always thought Ramsdale was Newcastle bound, they’d get him for dirt cheap as Southampton need the money and his stock has plummeted massively over the last 2 years.
The only reason Southampton aren’t rinsing Newcastle on this deal (if it ever even happens) is because Ramsdale has some form of relegation clause.
