Thomas Lemar

because we don’t bully teams into selling players and tap up players like other big teams do, other clubs know that

Basically because the staff at Arsenal are fucking weak just like the squad, the whole club at the moment wreaks of weakness from transfer dealings to everything else. There is no one that puts a strong ethic of ‘getting things done’ it has been said that clubs hate negotiating with us because we dont come in with a strong bid and get the player we play games too much, dither add a bit more leave the bid then go after someone else then come back etc. I guess we have gotten to the stage that clubs only need to hear about us being after one of their players and think ‘oh fuck off not gonna deal with those pricks’

In this case they are sure to earn more money in the future with Lemar. Isn’t the right time to sell him, and honestly I understand that.

Dithering.

The big ambitious clubs identify what they need, draw up a list of suitable players and do what ever it takes to get them.

Do you know who is the only way to convince Monaco? Pay them the double than what they want for the player. 60M and you can sign him. Arsenal isn’t this type of club…

If we sign Mahrez I won’t be too disappointed. Just hope we get one of them.

Except they just sold Silva for just over 40 million, right?

In euros almost 50 million.

Exactly. Same old problem: we just offer what we think it is necessary. But it doesn’t work in this way anymore.

Exactly, that’s why we have had strikers like Giroud, Welbeck, and Perez as our strikers for the last four seasons.

I agree.
I think even Wenger won’t be using his “the player didn’t meet with our valuation” line after this window.
He knows the supporters, the media and his own players have realised we have the money and we should just get what we need, and no excuses.

Don’t mention Sànchez to support your theory. I love your populism. :v:

And?

That confirms Maxi’s point a little bit imo that you have to overpay .

It doesn’t though lol, because these days just over £40 million is not even vaguely an overpayment for a quality and reasonably young creative midfielder, is it?

Depends on your point of view I guess. I think £43 / €50 million is quit a lot for a 22-year old with 2 (?) seasons of top flight experience.

FFS! He is killing all our hopes. So Laca and Mahrez, then?
