Because as much as the guy has come out and expressed how much he likes Arsene, he also has come out numerous times and said what we have achieved on field in recent times isn’t good enough…

Its speculation but its informed by logic as well as the history of all the other guys like Usmanov who have bought big football clubs.
Do you really think he is going to buy the club, intending to make massive investments (something else he has promised to do over and over again), and then keep Wenger as the manager? That makes no fucking sense at all.
I don’t know if Usmanov hates Wenger but he probably at least remembers that Wenger openly supported Kroenke’s decision in 2011 to block him from even having a board seat, despite owning nearly a third of the club. And that Wenger also said that the club didn’t need (and didn’t want) Usmanov’s money to compete. And he probably strongly suspects (at the very least) that Wenger was one of the people urging Nina Bracewell-Smith and Danny Fiszman to sell their shares to Kroenke, which kept him from buying the club in the first place.
I’m sure he doesn’t hold a grudge or anything and that all his comments can just be taken at face value about how much he loves Arsene Wenger and how all he wants to do is give him the support he needs in the transfer market. Its not like he is a rapacious Uzbek oligarch who has trampled over people all his life on the way to building a $15 billion fortune, desperately wants to buy a prestige football club to add to his array of yachts and other toys, yet has been frustrated in his attempts to do so.

Also pretty sure Usmanov has openly said a number of times he wants to see us properly invest.

If Arsenal invested like City or United we would be winning the league on a consistent basis under Wenger.
Because like everyone else, Usmanov can see not spending and the lack of world class players as well as persisting with average ones, hasn’t worked.

Great alternative to Lemar, and replacement for Alexis in a year. Wenger should really go all out for this guy. Would fit right into the first 11.

Well, it isn’t really. He’s been staying in Brazil for some time now, saying that he isn’t going to play for Chelsea again and also not going to play with the reserves, so that’s his way to force a move away. It seems just more of a confirmation that there is no coming back from the situation.
