Granit Xhaka

Wenger was quite clear in saying Xhaka hasnt yet adapted to the pace of the league.

Which explains the question marks over his position. Give it a few more weeks and he might start getting regular game time.

He gets his start at least. Expecting a beastly performance here today from him!

Pace of the league stuff is and has always been a load of bollocks.

It really isn’t. Footballers and managers them selves mention it often. Unless you know more than they do?

Yeah, it doesn’t really hold up. It might be one thing if he was coming from Portugal or Italy. But the Bundesliga is a very high paced league with tons of relentless pressing. If you are used to that pace, the Premier League shouldn’t be a big adjustment.

Awful half.

It’s almost as if he hasn’t quite adapted yet…

That could go for the rest of the team today also, they’re collectively playing like doo doo.

Hopefully now people realise that football is a little more complicated than ‘Omg we should start the player not starting, then we would win’.

You would have a point if Xhaka was the problem but he’s clearly not, the team hasn’t got any rhythm or ideas and the Debuchy substitution has meant Bournemouth have often exploited the right flank. Then there’s the fact Sanchez is vacating the CF position so hardly anyone is in the box to finish off chances.

Seems you’re being quick to vindicate Wenger for nothing.

Not vindicating Wenger at all. Merely highlighting that simply adding Xhaka into the team doesn’t solve our problems.

Played a blinding pass from deep when Alexis went down for a possible penalty, besides that, he’s playing so high up the pitch. Elneny often looks like the deepest midfielder. Odd.

If he plays deep this half I honestly think we could control the tempo a lot better + it opens up paths for Walcott/Ox.

OMG we should get a good manager, then we would win.

Definitely odd.

Much better 2nd half, nice work Granit.

Yeah first half nowhere to be seen happy he got his act together

Yeah thought he was pretty dire first half, but so was most of our team. Second half he was excellent. That is what we need from him consistently. AW needs to find the right role for him b/c he looked absolutely lost further ahead of El Neny in first half.

No question this was the set up. Xhaka was clearly significantly further forward than El Neny - interestingly, El Neny got more and more freedom to chase and harry the opponent as the game wore on, maybe Xhaka was allowed to sit deeper?

Either way, AW needs to sort out what he wants from those positions and quick b/c in the first half Xhaka looked completely lost.

The boy was alright today!

Start him more Wenger ffs. Look how good he is.
