Look at all the embarrassment he has caused us how can you be sad it’s come to this?! Good riddance to him.

I love him, he is just not a club manager.
I love my wife does not mean she is capable of everything.

Tbf we don’t know that.

Is it literally just doubts over him because he is a national team manager?

Who knows, maybe he’s an even better club manager?

I also had doubts over signing Ozil tbh. We need someone that’s a big name known in football so players would still want to come and the current ones would respect him, and someone that can install some tactical discipline into his team’s while being adaptable and a good developer of youth and someone willing to try new interesting things.

I can also see him having a good team of assistants around him and listening to their opinion, which is something Wenger had trouble doing, and was an issue for me. Part of the reason Fergie was so good is that he always had the best assistant coach es of the time as his number 2s, which made sure his ideas were never out of date.

So far I’ve not seen anything to make me think Loew is not any of those things.

He had 7 club jobs prior to becoming Germany’s ass man, then manager. He then lucked out by having the best national team in the world take shape around him.

Back when Jorg Albertz was a rangers player and when Larsson had dreads. A lots changed since then.

Tbf henwon trophies at those clubs didn’t he?

CWC with Stuttgart? Scratch that he was runner up.
Well I guess it hasn’t been a glittering career.

Still though. He might not be a Tuchel, but we’re not getting Tuchel unfortunately.

CWC he was runner-up. He won the Pokal only. He has no great experience with the day to day running a club like Arsenal.

I think Low to a lesser extent would be a similar appointment to Arteta, far too big a gamble for Arsenal at the moment.

What we’re paying Wenger would be a considerable raise for almost every coach in world football, just no need to be taking huge gambles like Arteta or Low right now.

Won the Austrian bundesliga with Innsbruck tbh.

Even that is more than what Arteta has done. Sick of former players that might be smart getting top jobs with zero credentials or experience because clubs want the next Pep.

Arteta is a terrible idea imho… who knows if he is ready… Jogi Low - FFS no thanks.

Jardim is an interesting shout… I’ll add him to my list - Simeone, Tuchel, Jardim.

Yeah, I deleted that, it was a ridiculous thing to say. Burg has it right, we have the resources to attract established top class managers, we don’t need to chance our arm on guys like Loew or Tetkers.

P.S. First Vienna is only club in Austria. :sunglasses:

Add Paulo Fonseca to your list while you’re at it too, this guy is good!

To me it sound like that is a decent achievement cos like you said I only know red bull Salzburg and the 2 Vienna clubs from Austria.

I never heard of Tirol Innsbruck before.

I just think he will be less of a gamble than you guys think, definitely less of a gamble than arteta. the man’s a world cup winner.

The last few have been: Loew, Del Bosque, Lippi, Scolari, Jacquet etc.

The only real club flop from those ones has been Scolari.

Anyways, on big Weng, looks like he’s only got the Europa left to save his job. Will that bring some new life into him (e.g. like the 11-12 and 12-13 runs to get 4th, last year’s FA cup run etc.) or no?

According to the wiki, they won it the two seasons prior under a different manager. That same manager also managed for a time in Loew’s title winning season.

EDIT: oooh, apparently they don’t exist anymore. Loew killed them :stuck_out_tongue:

Oh right fair.

Now that I’m thinking about it, (seen tweets about Ozil pulling a sickie etc) I would love Tuchel here.

But unfortunately that doesn’t look to be happening. There are things that prevent that. Let’s just see what happens, I’m at the stage where I think any change is good.

Edit: loool at the bankruptcy.

Btw, The type of club we are, with the type of owners and board we have, wouldn’t be surprised if the next coahc gets a massively reduced salary and we take that gamble because we can scrimp some money off the coach’s wage.

Good on Josh Kroenke. Not sure who sactioned it before but yes, the Rams coach, Jeff Fisher, was fired after an abysmal season where we went backwards, and weren’t even that good the year before. This last year we brought in a hot shot young offensive coach and we were one of the better teams in the league, went to the playoffs.
