Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

Ox being an Arsenal player has had very little positive impact on the club. Walcott won’t leave with his contract. Someone’s got to leave so we can make some kind of change in our attack or midfield.

I don’t really get it. People want change yet seem to want things to mostly stay the same too? Welbeck and Cech aren’t the only players keeping us away from winning the title and CL. Wenger is now staying, so that change isn’t going to come from there. We need to bring in new players and if it’s a case of Ox leaving for 25-30m I don’t think it’s hard to put that money into an upgrade, but even if it’s a change for some up and coming 21 year old from Germany, it’s the kind of risk we should take to not have the same old shit next year.

The thing I liked most about Ox this year is he manned up and appeared to give a shit but that’s not enough. We’ve seen with Walcott and maybe Coquelin that it’s a mistake to put these players on these contracts. If we sign Ox for 5 years on over 100k, it means he’s staying here for 5 years, getting picked for at least 20 games a season and probably preventing us from making a signing. I think right now it’s more likely he becomes future deadwood than a future star.

He must have something about him for both Guardiola and Klopp to have said they admired him as a player.

The fact that not many other managers are interested in signing Walcott, Ramsey and Wilshere etc, would indicate he is the best of this group of players.
I know that he hasn’t been that consistent, but when he played in certain positions last season, he showed he could be more than a decent player for us, and he is also young enough to still have potential, which is more than can be said of Walcott.

If Walcott went to Liverpool, I can’t see him being much more than a squad player, but Chamberlain could be a very good player for them, and I don’t want to sell a player to any other top PL club that might weaken us, and strengthen them.

I think we should be past caring what Chamberlain can do if he goes to X,Y or Z because he wouldn’t do it if he stayed here and most likely won’t do it at said clubs tbh.

They are all in better shape than us anyway and it’s not like he’s commanding a starting spot at any of the clubs mentioned, getting a good fee and upgrading is the best possible case for us.

I think selling Oxlade to a rival is kinda like United selling us Welbeck.

If that happened, then I’m all for it, although I would prefer the player we sold to be Walcott.[quote=“Burgundy, post:1288, topic:104, full:true”]

I hope so.

Yeah may have a few good moments but overall isn’t taking any of the clubs mentioned to greater heights.

Great shout. Exactly that.

Ox wouldn’t really get into Liverpools first team with Lallana, Mane, Salah, Coutinho and whoever else they have. they can have him though and we can get Lemar with the money

30M

SELL SELL SELL

If The Ox wasn’t english and he joined us when he did and had been poor for 6 years just like he has, then he would have been sold years ago, Liverpool are dumb if they offer us that kind of money

It would be a mistake to sell a player that we have had for so long, who has only just started to show what he can do.
I know he has had several seasons of mediocrity with a sprinkling of great performances but if we are going to sell any midfield players I would rather see Walcott go before him.

He would suit Liverpool more, and he even supports them.

no

the mistake, that we make far too often, is selling our best players and hanging on to crap ones

this guy is hugely over rated, great athlete, zero final product

get the cash

sell Walcott too, both bang average

It wouldn’t be a mistake at all you would’ve thought he had some kind of block buster season.

It was decent nothing exceptional and he’s nearly 24, he is at best a decent to good squad player and won’t be dislodging anyone in any of the forward or midfield positions.

He’s easily upgradeable and should be moved on, there are simply far better options out there.

It just seems that he has started to hit a bit of form, also if Klopp and Guardiola both like him, there must be something good about him.

It’s his consistency that has let him down, because he has had some very good games, just too infrequently.

If I thought Wenger would sell him and replace him with a better player, I would agree, but if we sell him and have Walcott playing more often, that would be unacceptable.

pish

what form? against whom?

Well, i would sell him for 30 mil. He is worth 15 mil at most.
