    Adrián López Álvarez

Same again? Arsenal line up Adrian Lopez as replacement for Walcott

Atletico Madrid forward is also refusing to sign a new contract, just like the England winger

Like Walcott, the 24-year-old Spaniard has spent long spells on the subs’ bench this season after stalling on a new deal.

And he will be on the Gunners radar if they fail to agree terms with the England winger before the transfer window opens in January.

Lopez, who scored 18 goals last season, has a buy-out clause of around Ł15million in his current contract, a fee that won’t scare off Arsenal.

Atletico are keen to tie Lopez down but that would mean putting up the cost of his release clause and the player is reluctant to do that.

Walcott is adamant he wants to sign a new contract at Arsenal but talks remain deadlocked.

Gunners manager Arsene Wenger has told Walcott he won’t get a starting role until he puts pen to paper on a new deal.

Good player but for 5-10 million more we could get Jovetic. Would prefer that.

I like the sound of this Adrian bloke. Question marks over Theo's future persist as well as another possibly striker shortage like last January because of ACON means that a forward will likely be brought in.
...Outstanding in the air, quick-footed on the ground and an excellent dribbler, Adrian's ability to cut inside, drop deep and link up with others make him an ideal choice to cover a number of forward positions at the Emirates, especially with Theo Walcott's future uncertain and Gervinho off to the Africa Cup of Nations in January...

    Sure why not.

For every Almunia we've had Arteta, Fabregas and Cazorla.
Someone changed my title just under my name! Awesome! Now how do I change the title to "Not gonna happen"?

Would rather we kept Theo, sorted out his contract and worked with what we have.

Since Gervinho has been given the first half of the season to display his ST credentials, i reckon Theo will get his chance when the ACON happens (and once his contract has been sorted of course).

3 new forward players in one season just seems too chaotic considering the fact that unless you are of the Barca / Spain mould (ala Cazorla), you are gonna take time to settle.

Avatar bet with Eddy, i bet that we spend more than Ł20,000,000 on a player this summer...

Daily Mail saying we are sending scouts out on Sunday to watch him play. Remember, Mail said we were scouting Podolski way ahead of the other papers so perhaps there Arsenal sources are stronger then most.

    Tomorrow's L'Equipe, translated;

L'Équipe claims that wenger is going for a trio of full internationals in january.
Rennes outcast Yann mvila , Montpellier Captain Mapou Yanga Mbiwa and Atletico Madrid forward Adrian Lopez.

Wenger is adament to get Yanga mbiwa either this january or make a pre contract with him and get him next summer.

Wenger is willing to pay a huge signing fee for the frenchman and inside source from WB-Sportmanagement claism that there have been talks with arsenal regarding both players.

Arsenal are already in talks with Lopezes agent Carlos Arino Bajo and the deal will be announced as soon as the january transfer window opens.

Remember M'vila? Although I wouldn't be suprised if we got him because he is a far bigger talent than M'vila in my opinion.

If we get any of them I'll be surprised. This club is adamant on turning a profit via player sales.
