If that Transylvanian-usurping whore who sits on the thrown has any conscience whatsoever...not for much longer

I don't really think it's her decision though, nor was it hers to give him it either.

I obviously assumed it was hers as i don't (nor do i wish to) understand the whole knighthood thing. my opinion on the whole knighthood thing is...well, you won't really wish to know what i think of that fucking disgusting institute.

    Anyways, i stand corrected

Not sure that there's much to discuss here. Can't imagine many people defending him tbh!

all these victims and not one of them came forward when he was alive and yet suddenly when he is dead and there is no chance of any true justice they all flock forward. Im not saying he isnt guilty but why all come forward now knowing full well its going to be your word against hi...oh wait he cant have his say now
Time up Arsene, stand down because this ship needs a new direction.

Come on Invincibles2004, please stop being so naive.

Saying it and proving it are two completely different things and do you think OJ wasn't guilty purely because that was the returned jury verdict?

Plus this was all often happening in another time and era when Saville was much more powerful than he was towards the end of his days, things tended to have a blind eye turned back then, the women are adults now but were young girls then but regardless of age would still have to go through the ordeal or a court case, the media would be reluctant to print anything without proof for fear of being sued, just as the Daily Mirror was years ago when one of their writers did a piece alluding to Liberace being gay but I know you have heard all of these things before but your mind is made up so it's a waste of time really.

Add to that it's a total embarrassment to many now including those who knighted him and then the royal connection there too. Maybe he can't have his say now but the pure number of girls/women coming forward is quite telling in itself.

I think there is a point to this i.e. even though Jimmy Saville is dead and cannot be brought to justice an investigation into this can highlight other culprits who are still alive. It also gives closure to the victims of Jimmy Saville and it also sets right the public perception of this man.

It also sends out the message that if you get away with a crime you will eventually be caught and brought to justice (if not in the case of Saville then others who might be caught as part of this investigation).

I know this might not be enough but it is better than doing nothing.

Its not being naive. Not one victim made any report about being abused until he was dead. If he is alive and abused you, why not prove it and nail the bastard? some of them appear to of had over 30 years plus to tell someone but nothing. Until he is dead and cant say anything to the contray. Im not saying he is innocent but if they were abused what the fuck took you so long to all come out of hiding. Of coarse some will always be too scared to come forward but for ALL of them to come forward when he is dead? He must be the luckiest paedophile in living history

Agree with Jules really, more harm than good especially when it goes way beyond Jimmy Savile and spreads throughout the whole BBC and then the next organisation and then the next......

This isn't an argument for maintaining the status quo, but the situation undoubtedly is not the same in 2010 as it was in the 60s, 70s, even 80s, I think in many cases it is unnecessarily muckraking.

Next you're going to get stuff coming out about a certain much loved now deceased Radio 1 presenter, people who didn't do anything with underage, but just lots of extra-marital shenanigans and the odd power-trip. Some of these people did a lot of good in their lives, besmirching their reputation once they're beyond the grave is a bit pointless, it doesn't suddenly make their charitable contributions any less valid just cos they shagged around a bit.

Someone's gonna quote me and say each woman involved is entitled to claim for workplace harrassment, something to which I don't have an answer, but the whole operation of sweeping clean a system long-gone that was dirty, seems a little pointless to me now. Bigger fish to fry in the here and now.
A traditional Wenger supporter that finally lost patience after the League Cup debacle vs Bradford, 11/12/12

I no longer believe with enough conviction that:-

    - Wenger believes in his players enough to motivate them
    - The players believe in Wenger enough to be motivated by him

and for these two reasons alone, it's time to say thanks for the wonderful memories Arsene but let us part ways in the summer.
